Experts estimate that in New York’s 14th District, two out of every seven people may not fill out the census. That’s a huge problem.
An undercount in the census affects almost every aspect of our community. Funding for roads, schools, social services, emergency response, and more are influenced by the census count.
And Donald Trump is making it worse. He just issued a brazenly unconstitutional executive order attempting to scare undocumented folks from filling out the census. His administration knows that the order will be struck down, but the timing is critical. He’s trying to add uncertainty and fear into the process just months before the deadline.
