If you’re a fan of 90’s movies, you’re likely familiar with the teen comedy classic Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead. Treehouse Pictures has confirmed that they are working on a reboot of the film which is now in active development. The new film is a diverse remake of 1991 coming-of-age comedy, set in the present-day and centered around a Black family. The original followed Sue Ellen “Swell” Crandell, a 17-year-old forced to take care of her four younger siblings after the babysitter hired by her mother dies while mom’s out of town. Super model and real-life fashion icon Tyra Banks will play Cassidy’s character Rose, a fashion executive at General Apparel West, who takes a chance on Swell by hiring her as an executive assistant. The movie will be filmed in Los Angeles, CA with production scheduled to begin in July so get those “QED reports” ready!
