  1. Dear Mr Hanks – My father was a US Army infantry soldier in WWII. At age 18, he fought the Germans in south Germany and Czechoslovakia. I really appreciate the work you did making the films/series that honor the sacrifice those soldiers, marines, seaman, and airmen made back then for America and the World back. I’m watching Masters of the Air now. It is gut wrenching and.. beautiful.. at the same time. Their sacrifice… unreal.   6. I was a soldier that served in Iraq In 2007 2008. At that point Id been in the military 18 years. I had 4 children 14 down to 5. I was not afraid for me but for them. But Im a movie guy. Tom’s line in castaway where he said tomorrow is another day got me through Iraq and also the struggles I had when I came home.
