X Sequel

Mia Goth to Begin Filming “X” Sequel “MaXXXine” in April

The highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed film “X” is set to begin filming in April 2023. Titled “MaXXXine,” the film will continue the story of Maxine, the sole survivor of a brutal massacre in Texas, played by Mia Goth.

The first film, “X,” directed by Ti West and produced by A24, was praised by both audiences and critics for its tense atmosphere and gripping performances. Shooting for the upcoming movie will take place in Los Angeles.

Ti West, the writer and director of “X,” will also be returning for “MaXXXine,” promising to bring his signature style of slow-burn horror to the sequel. Along with West, producers Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss, who worked on the first film, will also be producing “MaXXXine” under the A24 banner.

In addition to the returning team, line producer Jacob Jaffke and casting director Jessica Kelly will also be working on the film, ensuring that the production will have the same level of quality and attention to detail that audiences loved in “X.”

Continuing Maxine’s Story

“MaXXXine” will pick up several years after the events of “X,” with Maxine now living in Hollywood under a new identity, hoping to leave her past behind and become a movie star. However, as Maxine soon discovers, Hollywood has its own set of horrors, and her past is not so easily forgotten.

With the returning team behind the camera and Mia Goth reprising her role as Maxine, “MaXXXine” is sure to be one of the most highly anticipated horror films of the year. As fans eagerly await its release, they can look forward to seeing Ti West’s signature style of slow-burn horror once again, combined with the talent and dedication of the A24 team.

“MaXXXine” Teaser

As the production of “MaXXXine” begins to take shape, fans of the upcoming horror sequel were treated to a brief teaser that played after the credits of “Pearl.” Clocking in at just over a minute, the teaser takes on a home video style, with the camera panning to where the iconic Hollywood sign is usually perched. In its place, we see Maxine’s name, spelled just like it is in the film’s title. The image is distorted and glitchy, with static filling the screen as the teaser comes to an end.

The teaser for “MaXXXine” offers a glimpse into the titular character’s obsession with fame, with Maxine’s name taking center stage in the iconic Hollywood landscape. The teaser hints that Maxine has finally made it to Tinseltown and may have found success in the adult film industry. However, the brief clip is only a small taste of what’s to come, with a longer trailer expected to drop closer to the film’s official release date.

As fans eagerly anticipate the release of “MaXXXine,” they can look forward to experiencing the unique style of director Ti West once again, who previously helmed the critically acclaimed film “X.” With Mia Goth reprising her role as Maxine and a talented team of producers and crew members behind the scenes, “MaXXXine” promises to be one of the most highly anticipated horror films of the year.
