Morning is set in a near future where society has access to a pill that eliminates the need for sleep, and the addition of an artificial sun means there is always daylight.

The story follows Cathy, an ambitious and driven advocate of a sleepless world, as she attempts to repair her relationship with her son while grappling with the crumbling world she helped build. The film explores the impact of a society without sleep on a younger generation and questions whether it’s time for them to rebel and reclaim their dreams.

As Danny is drawn into a subversive underworld of dreamers, Cathy must confront the nightmares that have begun to bleed into her waking life. The arrival of someone from Frank’s past brings up memories Cathy has been fighting hard to suppress, and she must fight to hold on to her son in a world that is rapidly falling apart.

Morning is a timely tale that will appeal to rebellious spirits across generations, exploring the impact of a sleepless world and the importance of holding on to our dreams. With an all-star cast, talented crew, and a thought-provoking story, Morning is sure to be a film to watch out for in the coming years.

Sam Steiner, the writer behind the critically acclaimed play “You Stupid Darkness!” has written the script for Morning. Steiner’s expertise in crafting poignant and emotionally charged stories about the human condition makes him the perfect candidate to bring the story of Morning to life.

Meanwhile, the film’s director, Justin Kurzel, has already established himself as a master of visually stunning and emotionally evocative storytelling with his previous work on films such as Macbeth and Assassin’s Creed.

Adam Arkapaw, the director of photography for Morning, has previously worked with Kurzel on Macbeth and The True History of the Kelly Gang, showcasing their strong working relationship. The film’s cast includes Laura Dern, Noah Jupe, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Naomi Ackie. Dern, who has been praised for her performances in films such as Marriage Story and Little Women, will portray Cathy, the film’s protagonist.

Cumberbatch, who has worked with Kurzel on The Courier, will play Cathy’s deceased husband Frank. Jupe, who has starred in films such as A Quiet Place and Honey Boy, will play Cathy’s son Danny. Meanwhile, Ackie, who recently appeared in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and The End of the F***ing World, will play someone from Frank’s past who disrupts Cathy’s carefully constructed world.
