my first con experience was actually uh Comic-Con San Diego that's a good one to
0:05
say comic Con San Diego and and I think most people don't realize that there's so many other events like this out there
0:12
everybody just seems to think it's only San Diego that's what I thought until I started you know going out there and
0:18
realizing oh man this is everywhere you know I people don't have to travel they don't want to i appreciate some of you
0:24
that made the drive by the way thank you uh but yeah San Diego Comic-Con I'd say about five six years ago I was there
0:31
with Funko funko invited me to come out and do a signing they created the first uh comedy Funko figure and uh so they
0:39
had me there signing i got a chance to hang out with Brian and Mike uh Mike Becker so uh it's it's been a lot of fun
0:44
i've gone every year since then um this is like the first time I go out and I
0:49
actually do um like I guess a like the whole everything that's going on out
0:54
there whereas with Funko it was specifically to that um there was no real pictures it was just signing
1:00
figures but now and I want everybody to know I drove here i didn't fly here i
1:07
have a home here in Texas oh he's a local that's right that's right i won't tell you what city
1:13
cuz I don't need you at my doorstep but but I will see you at Bies or the I35 that's I'll be Heck yeah they should do
1:22
one of these at Bies there's enough room for it all right bies is an experience
1:27
man the cleanest bathroom the amount the bathrooms are cleaner than my house yeah you can eat in the bathroom and I have I
1:34
have I'm not ashamed to say it i have I want to know what the sign is for I have
1:40
ate in the bathroom all right you never thought you'd do
1:45
that one huh i ate a burrito in the bathroom
1:53
[Laughter] yeah that's that you saw it
2:00
but no uh yeah going to Buggies that's an experience right there you wind up with all this merch i own probably 30 things with a with a beaver on it that's
2:08
Well I heard I want you to confirm this that you might have boughten a little Bucky Beaver plush so you could take the
2:14
outfit for your dog yes uh some of you that have been following me know that I' i've been highlighting my dogs for many
2:20
many years and unfortunately in the last year I lost both of them and uh I you
2:26
know I recently got a puppy and she is probably 3 lb she's tiny little thing
2:31
she's tiny and um at Bies they sell the little Bucky Beaver with the shirt and
2:37
what I did was uh I took the shirt off the beaver and it fits my dog perfectly
2:43
oh yeah it fits her perfectly so like now when I go there they're like "Why are you buying so many of these little
2:48
plushes or you're giving them away?" Yeah without the shirt my dog has a wardrobe i love that your
2:54
dog is rugging bunnies as well all right so Marvel I said I was going to get to it now in one of uh your recent Stan
3:01
special you I'm a big nerd i'm a big DC Marvel guy right that's kind of what I like to talk about all the time you were
3:07
talking Batman you were saying how Batman is a creepy superhero
3:13
yes i stand by that i'm not trying to get controversial i'm just saying I said
3:18
that Batman is is the creepiest superhero ever cuz it's just the way he is you know what I mean it's just I'm
3:24
Batman i'm Batman i'm Batman you don't recognize that voice hey kids want some
3:30
candy same voice same voice i'll be in the lead
3:36
i I'm I love Batman i can't argue I guess
3:42
but also huge de I love that you're here because you are a massive fan yourself obviously you're repping in Marvel
3:47
Deadpool Wolverine over a billion dollar movie we all love Deadpool Wolverine bro let me tell you how hardcore of a Marvel
3:53
fan I am i was offered a role in a DC movie and out of principle I just said
4:00
"I can't do it i can't do it i've said I've said too much i've talked too much trash if I were to do the movie I I'd be
4:07
the biggest hypocrite so I said I said thank you but I can't can you say what it was i won't tell okay all right i had
4:13
I had my shot i had my shot also stay in the fandom category uh WWE yes this is
4:20
like a shrine dude like I'm a huge wrestling fan so you know anybody who's uh been following knows that I I I've
4:27
been to the last 15 Wrestlemania i've been a huge wrestling fan since I was
4:32
since 1987 that's when I was born oh you were born myself there you make me feel old there
4:38
I was and of course watching me wrestling the people were just body
4:43
slamming each other it's crazy to say that I was born in the
4:49
1900s cuz then you feel that that was amongst the people in the 1900s
4:56
kids look at you funny man when you say the 19 wow you're ancient i don't feel
5:02
old i mean don't get me wrong I'll be 50 next year but I you know I feel I feel okay that's right
5:08
half a century we do have WWE fans in here right we got some wrestling in the house all right so I'm I'm going to get
5:15
I'm going to see get his take on here so John Cena was here yesterday the current WWE I heard it was here yesterday but I
5:21
didn't see him
5:26
oldest joke that we still use current WWE champion how do you how do you think this is going to play out i I want to
5:31
get I know you're a massive fan you know Cody Rose is back right i'm sorry for anyone who's not a WWE fan but he's here
5:37
i got to ask him i I got it how do you think it's going to play out you think SummerSlam Cody wants to get his belt back you think Cena takes it away like he says and runs wrestling i think Cena
5:44
keeps the belt at least until the end of the year for sure at least until the end of the year okay all right well there
5:50
you go you You heard it right there i'll keep it simple i'll keep it friendly keep it simple all right so I want I want to know so everybody out here are
5:56
you more anime fans are you more Marvel fans DC fans
6:02
back to Who's here for Back to the Future yes I was here for that i was excited man i I got to meet Christopher
6:08
Lloyd i was Oh yeah i met him in the back by the bathroom i have to go number two
6:17
amazing so let's go back to the beginning here a little bit so all that obviously uh you've done a lot of things
6:22
in your ear can you kind of give us a brief we're here to learn about you you know get your you know tell us your life story so you're obviously one of the
6:28
biggest comic collectors right now dude i've been like I said I've been following you since all that so I'm a massive fan myself honored to be doing this so can you kind of just walk us
6:35
through that you know from all that to you know having selling out like Dodger Stadium bro like I know that was Taylor
6:42
Swift i was Tay Tank i I started doing comedy uh April 10th
6:49
of 1997 and that's when I first started doing calling myself a standup um from
6:55
day one I love doing this i love being in front of people i love making people laugh i loved doing the voices the
7:01
impressions the sound effects i just enjoyed it so much and every chance I could get on stage I would do it and
7:07
little by little one special two specials three four i'm coming up on number 10 this next year I'm going to
7:13
record my uh my 10th special i'll tell you right now I've done I've
7:20
already done two specials in Texas i did one in Houston at the Toyota Center i did the other in El Paso and my my 10th
7:28
comedy special will in fact be back in Texas in San Antonio
7:35
so special number 10 will be here in San Antonio and um I think it's awesome texas has always shown me a lot of love
7:42
which is why I think that it it only felt right that you know selling my house in California i still have a
7:48
connection over there i still keep you know Uncle Sam ain't going to let me go that easy so I still have my ties and
7:54
everything over there but uh I can say that I have a a home here and it's been awesome uh especially because I know
8:00
Texans are not very excited or thrilled at the fact that Californians are
8:06
starting to you know [Laughter]
8:12
I I know exactly go home i love that ro three go home get out we don't want your
8:18
kind here that didn't sound right but listen um
8:24
uh Eris I'll tell you right now I was hanging out at a bar one night with my with my friend Rick we were here in in Texas we were in San Antonio and he's
8:30
telling all his friends at the bar "Yeah my friend just moved here my friend just moved here." And and his friends are
8:36
like "Well where did he move here from?" I was like "Guy he just moved here from California." And everyone at the table
8:41
was like one guy goes "Another one?"
8:49
I wasn't sure what was going on so I walked up to the guy that said "Another one." And I said "Sir um may I ask you a
8:56
question?" Sure first do you know who I am and I I I asked the question not to
9:02
be like arrogant but I just wanted to know if he knew that you know what I thought I was a comic he goes "I have no
9:07
idea." I said "Okay good that's good um I just wanted to ask you i saw that you got annoyed with with the fact that my
9:15
friend said a person from California just moved here and you made a thing can you tell me why that is help me
9:22
understand i'll tell you right now what the problem is i'll tell you what the problem is these people from California
9:29
coming here to Texas with their Priuses and their electric stuff their views
9:34
i'll tell you the biggest problem they're taking these jobs away from good hardworking Texans that's what they're
9:39
doing i go "Oh my god apparently Californians are the new Mexicans
9:48
we don't want their car." I'm like "I didn't think I could get offended for the same thing twice." Um
9:53
but yeah not going home bro not going home i know and and then I've gotten
9:58
into fights with people literally about uh I I get questioned In-N-Out or Waterburger and I'm like that I'm going
10:04
to lose no matter what so I say you always got to say wherever you're at so if you're here you got to claim What a
10:11
burger in California you just got to say in and out and if you're stuck in the middle you just you know claim like Taco
10:18
Pal or something you neutral i'm neutral but uh tacos
10:27
now so anyways uh
10:32
All right so uh go going on can we talk about the fact you're wearing a Yankees hat i am wearing Yankees yes I am oh
10:40
come on there you go i need to get that heat off me i need
10:46
to put that on you bro you You told me backstage first I will say my dad was NYPD 13 years does that help does that
10:54
help okay he's not a bandwagon fan so he has to know it's not he's not wearing it
10:59
to become 23 okay guys it's I'm actually from there we're going to be dead sir
11:05
i just wanted to watch you defend yourself nothing yeah they're going to get they're going to get you like they get
11:11
me we don't want your cash here the Yankee out of here
11:17
all right uh I wanted to ask obviously an amazing standup career and you see a lot with standup comedians right that
11:23
obviously having success like you it us a lot of time translates into acting
11:29
right is for you person I know it's going to be different for who whatever you know comedian I'm talking standup
11:34
was doing voiceovers acting by the way big fan of uh Santa Claus my family loves Santa Claus thank you okay big fan
11:42
Disney plus now uh but was it always an aspiration of yours the like once you
11:48
get to a certain point in your career it's like "Yeah I I would like to act i want to show my face i want to do voiceovers."
11:55
Early on in comedy I was always told you never had your own idea you were just
12:00
told as a comic you want to go out there make people laugh get a following do an
12:06
HBO special that was the thing back then you want an HBO special this is way before Netflix was a thing uh you want
12:13
to get on the Tonight Show because there was only one late night show back in the day so get on the Tonight Show get a
12:19
sitcom and then you know right off into the sunset that was basically it and if you're uh offered a movie then you do
12:25
that um for me I started going out on auditions early on and nothing was
12:32
working i could not get my foot in the door and then one night at a comedy show
12:38
in in Hollywood I was approached by uh the last name Robbins the to the guys
12:44
from Tolen Robbins uh basically Nickelodeon they saw me doing voices and characters and I got I got uh called in
12:53
to do an audition and they said "So they say that you can do this and that and the other thing." And so once I started
12:58
doing the impressions and the characters and the guy goes "They said you can talk like a girl." And I'm like "Oh my god yes."
13:05
And they just looked at each other and they're like "We we we need this guy on the show." And I'm like "What's happening?" And before I knew it I was
13:11
on a kid show you know and and I thought I was like "Wow." So I stopped going out
13:16
on auditions i stopped trying to chase that and I said "Let me focus on what's
13:21
getting the attention." Me being a comic me being a comic has gotten me
13:26
everything and all these voiceover roles and acting has been because of that i didn't audition for Magic Mike even
13:33
though some people think I did i was in Magic Mike both to part one and part two
13:39
you're cheering i'm Yeah I'm the only one that didn't get naked you're welcome you're welcome arizona was called Magic
13:44
Mike not Tragic Mike which is why I kept these clothes on yes but um the
13:50
voiceover work also came because they wanted me to be in their movie because they knew I had a strong social media
13:57
following and so they said just do your regular voice we're using you yeah no I
14:03
Yeah I was happy to be used because it just started building up that resume and now it's like there's so many roles that
14:11
I've done uh for voiceover work it's crazy my proudest one though is Speedy Gonzalez i was going to have Speedy
14:18
Gonzalez and that's the only one where I didn't do my regular voice but they wanted me to they wanted me to use my
14:24
regular voice for Speedy they said "Well we want him to sound more modern and contemporary," whatever the the term was
14:30
that they said and I said "No I think Speedy should sound like Speedy." And
14:36
and so they're like "Well we have an actor who does that voice that dude is so white the whitest dude ever does does
14:44
and I'm like really so uh when I told them I can do the voice they were like
14:49
well let's see and so when I did it they freaked out and they're like uh this is kind of weird you know cuz I was the
14:55
first actual Mexican to play speed that is amazing that is amazing
15:03
so prime is one and I uh a couple weeks ago I was at Warner Brothers and I was uh doing Speedy's voice again there's
15:11
some um movies coming out where they're going to do Looney Tunes shorts at the beginning of the movie and so one of
15:18
them has Speedy in it so are you like officially the Speedy now currently yeah
15:23
we have more Speedy for you [Music]
15:29
i couldn't help but wonder though you said you like Warner offices did you flick off Batman pictures as you were walking out i did
15:37
no and just so we're clear I don't hate DC i just prefer Marvel
15:43
that's it who is it who's your favorite Marvel batman um Tony Stark iron Man
15:50
iron Man yeah that's a solid one so I would imagine if you get offered a
15:55
Marvel that you're jumping on that ride yeah okay but the best part is is that I
16:01
won't go out for it i'm putting it out there that I'm such a huge Marvel fan i'm just going to wait and hope that
16:07
Marvel understands that I would be an incredible asset to the Marvel Cinematic Universe yes
16:14
mhm now I wanted to ask you I think I think all of you could agree too that
16:20
being a standup community dude that's one of the hardest jobs in in the world as far as like it's just you dude like
16:25
you you can blame no one else whether you succeed whether you succeed or you fail it's you right obviously you have a
16:32
team behind you and stuff like that but as far as like you know you're out there spotlight your jokes it's it's you and everyone here so how did you know
16:39
something that intimidating was for you cuz you know I'm up here in front of everyone but I got you to bounce off man
16:45
i'm not doubting myself i'm just going to one more person you're a bad joke
16:52
being a comic you are the writer producer you're the editor you're everything and so when when something
16:59
goes well you take full credit for it and when something goes bad you take full credit for that as well uh it's
17:05
just you in the microphone and so for me to get up on stage back in 1997
17:12
that was uh probably the most terrifying time for me in front of maybe 10 people 10 people terrified me whereas now I'm
17:19
in front of thousands and it's like "Hi." You know I am very very comfortable on stage this is my my
17:26
second home and I always tell people there's nothing I can't do on stage
17:31
because I have your guys's energy that that feeds me and helps me to be a superhero up here and so uh you know
17:39
what I mean my power is the gift of laughter i know some people like can you lift something probably not
17:47
but as soon as I go backstage everything hurts i got issues with my sciatica my knee clicks uh but up here I'm fine i
17:53
can do squats and stuff it's pretty crazy it's your superpower it's my superpower all right so we got about 25ish minutes
18:00
left and I got some presubmitted fan questions presubmitted fan presubmitted fan right here how's everybody in the
18:05
back row doing you guys doing back there get here sooner next time i love you
18:11
guys all right so first up we got Miguel from
18:18
San Antonio Texas miguel from San Antonio Texas right here wants to know uh your chocolate cake story is
18:25
legendary but we'd love to know what's the funniest fan interaction you've had involving food or desserts
18:31
food or desserts so uh I was approached by someone who
18:37
said "Hey man um I'm the manager here at the restaurant." You know he saw me in
18:42
line and he goes "I want you to order whatever you want i got it it's on the house." I go "Really you sure?" He goes
18:49
"Yeah." I go "But I got a bunch of friends with me you guys order whatever you want it's on the house okay so we
18:55
placed an order and you know I I don't mess around i I do not mess around and
19:01
so uh yeah and and the uh the cashier was like you know that'll be whatever the price was and I go "No no you don't
19:07
understand the uh the manager told us that we could order whatever we want." And I saw the manager and I go "Hey hey
19:14
hey you said we could order she's trying to charge us." And I say "Yeah you know I I I said you could order whatever you
19:20
want." Um but I don't work here
19:26
and the girl the cashier she goes "You got another one?" I'm like "Oh my god." Don't get me wrong I still would have ordered everything I ordered
19:34
but yeah he got me he made me believe that that it was going to be competent it wasn't that's pretty crazy so yeah I
19:40
mean that's food interaction the other story I can't share in front of
19:47
PG-13 pg-13 all right so uh next up we got Isabella from Houston isabella from
19:52
Houston yeah she wants to know from voice from voicing Speedy Gonzalez to
19:57
the role of Coco in so many other animated films how do you bring your comedy style into voice acting i think
20:04
the director has a lot to do with that because the director will tell you I need you to be more animated i need you
20:10
to give me more energy or bring it down and so for example um there's a new door
20:15
of the Explorer movie coming out very soon uh I want to say Paramount Plus and
20:20
I get to play Boots i'm Boots in the new Dora
20:25
that's right i can play Monkey too yes um so I I was excited when they asked me
20:30
cuz again I didn't audition for this one they called me they said "We have an indoor The Explore movie and we would
20:36
like for you to voice Boots." And I couldn't say yes fast enough i was excited so when I filmed this or
20:42
recorded it cuz I didn't go to the Brazilian rainforest like the actors did i got to do the entire movie from from
20:49
home in a little uh recording studio that I have and so uh I had the director
20:54
on a Zoom and he's telling me right there hey all right you're saying this now this is what just happened you just
21:00
fell off a tree you're kind of disheveled and so you got to act according to what they're the info
21:06
they're giving you and he's like you're excited to see her i'm like I'm excited to see you no you're really You haven't seen her in like a year i'm excited to
21:13
see you that There we go okay bring it down a little so that's what they do they They do this or they do this so bring it high bring it low and there was
21:20
a couple uh scenes in the movie where it's very uh like a a heartfelt moment
21:26
where it's like a And he had to tell me that cuz I kept making it funny he goes "This is one time I need you to not be
21:32
funny you're you're you're almost sad." And I'm like "Oh man really?" He goes "Yeah like that." And I'm like okay so
21:39
the directors will always be the ones that help you uh make your scene good or
21:44
bad all right well going off that I wanted to before I go to the next question do you like prefer uh being in
21:51
front of the camera like you are in something like Santa Claus or do you like voice acting more obviously you're known for your voices but do you have a
21:57
a preference my preference is always standup comedy first second is
22:03
voiceovers because I can knock out an entire movie in like two days okay yeah
22:09
all these all these roles I knocked them out in just a couple days but when I'm doing something like the Santa Claus
22:14
that was couple months right yeah we recorded the
22:20
Santa Claus in June which is funny cuz I had to walk around with a Santa Claus outfit in summer which was nice inside
22:27
but when we go outside it's like "Ooh." Yeah i always think it's funny you filming because obviously you're not
22:32
going to film movies just in the the Christmas season so you got to get like in the vibe it's probably like Christmas
22:37
music on set to get that that joy if you will that holiday the holiday fun but was that hard the set of the Santa
22:44
Clauses was so incredible like the sound stage no matter what direction you would
22:50
walk in it it looked like a like a village it looked like a Santa's village like there was no wall that you would
22:57
run into like this it's like every single you know corner it was something it was
23:03
almost like a maze like I I I wish they could have just charged admission and to
23:08
go see it cuz it was that elaborate that cool and the AC was kicking so it felt good in there there you go there you go
23:14
and fake snow don't eat that not collecting
23:20
all right so next question we have from Lewis from Austin Texas lewis yeah guy
23:25
says "Your VW bus collection is amazing which one in your collection has the most interesting art or funny story
23:32
behind it?" Yes so for those of you that don't know I am a collector of Volkswagens vintage Volkswagens uh 1950
23:41
to 1976 which is ironically the year I was born um I have uh about 35 uh old
23:48
school Volkswagen buses 23 window buses 21 window buses i collect buses that's my thing i do have a Carmenia one and
23:56
one bug but uh that's been my jam for many years now jay Leno got me started on collecting cars uh I tell people I
24:03
have a Jay Leno starter kit because Jay has over 400 cars and over
24:08
1,500 motorcycles are you trying to compete with that no I'm not trying to compete with that i'm
24:14
not but I I do have my little Volkswagen collection uh I apologize what was that question about Volkswagen which one has
24:19
the most interesting story which one has the most interesting story i don't always get a backstory on these buses
24:26
but I will tell you for me I was catfished i was cat it doesn't just
24:31
happen in relationships i was catfished i bought a car online and the pictures looked really really good and when I got
24:37
it the entire body was was so warped and tweaked it looked like a more of like a
24:43
question mark and it was so just it was
24:48
so bad i I I couldn't even feel right reselling it cuz it just it's such a messed up car and so what wind up
24:55
happening was uh uh my buddy Henry who does my restorations I said "Hey man can
25:00
we can we do something with this?" And he basically had to rebuild that car but the beauty of it was it went from being
25:07
a car that was catfished and he turned it into a masterpiece that I drove out on stage at Dodger Stadium so the
25:14
opening scene of my special where I drive that bus out that bus was garbage when I first got it and so I I love the
25:21
fact that it started off garbage and it ended being on a on a stage and now it
25:27
sits in a museum in Jamestown New York so I donated the car to the comedy museum that's awesome cuz they wanted it
25:34
so the best story you know there you go yeah it started off as trash and now it's uh you know I got to imagine you
25:41
were super stoked with the the new they announced the new VW bus the electric one the electric one how you feeling
25:46
about that don't get me started uh this is Texas uh come over here to your electric stuff no
25:53
um I think that the electric buzz which is
25:58
what it's called the electric buzz it's a fun car to drive it really is uh you get 230 mi to charge but at the end of
26:06
the day if you don't have a place to charge it you're going to a problem so I always say electric cars are awesome if
26:13
you have a gas car first or a hybrid i think hybrids are the way to go you're I
26:20
know you're asking me about a Volkswagen but let me tell you about the Toyota Sienna the Toyota Sienna oh my god 18
26:26
cup holders people 18 cup holders do you need 18 cup holders oh man I need 18 cup
26:32
holders 18 cup holders a bunch of charging ports it is awesome it gets over 500 miles every time you fill it up
26:39
dude i'm right there with you i recently just got a 2025 Kia Carnival right and dude that that Yeah big ass tank big ass
26:47
tank got all the chargers i I got little kids and stuff like that there's chargers everywhere and I got iPads it's crazy it's funny as like when you're
26:53
younger you're like "Yeah I want the Ferrari." And then you're older you're like "That mini though." That makes it turns about like it turns into being
26:59
like cool then convenience cuz you always just like let's easy i don't need like you know a Lamborghini although
27:06
it's still [ __ ] fun to have when I was younger I wanted cool fast sleek and
27:11
now I'm I'm older i I just want practical i want a car that's not going to leave
27:17
me on the side of the road i want a car I fit in
27:22
lamborghini that's Spanish for no cave no it don't fit you don't get in a Ferrari you put it on
27:28
bro it's just Yeah but a but a minivan I love a
27:34
minivan for a couple reasons one it's low pro for me I can go anywhere i can go to HUV and I find parking really
27:41
people feel sorry for me oh it's a minute here go ahead just you know and then I get out and I'm like you're in
27:46
that car yep it's like a disguise that's actually Let's go back to the Texas thing for one second bies is kind of a
27:52
staple of Texas but so is HGB yeah there we go there it is
27:58
i knew about BIES for a while but HB I had never experienced it because if
28:03
you're visiting Texas you you're going to go eat somewhere because someone's going to take you somewhere you're not
28:09
going to a a grocery store to buy groceries because you're just you're there for a couple days but having a
28:15
home in Texas can't eat out every day so I found myself at a HB i I tal I talked
28:20
to this one girl cuz I was telling her I said "I got to get myself groceries." And she goes "I got you i have HB." And
28:27
I say "You know they have a vaccine for that right?" I'm sorry but is it just me or doesn't
28:33
HB sound like an STD fat people get you hear about Fluffy mess around with
28:38
normal he got HB he scratches he smells like brisket
28:47
but yeah no HBS are awesome i I went grocery shopping at HB uh I made it 10
28:52
feet in the door and they they had the one I went to had a barbecue restaurant in it yeah barbecue and that's as far as
29:00
I got i I couldn't shop after that i was too full i think they all have have a uh Not
29:08
all of them not all of them okay i think it's funny and some of them are like HB Plus oh like a Super Target yeah but
29:14
then the ones with the plus don't have a restaurant so but I'm like why are you a plus if you don't have the restaurant it
29:19
should be HB minus go on a tangent a little bit cuz I know here in Texas what's up with nons super
29:25
targets like are we not past that cuz in my area we have a target it's not super target I'm like how do you how have you
29:32
not graduated past just normal target I have no idea man but I I shop at Bies
29:38
there you go there you go you there's the most random you you want to buy a a
29:43
bikini and a fishing lure and a cowboy hat and a and a milkshake you could get
29:49
all that up and get gas and I had slushies on the way up here i
29:54
stopped at two i stopped at one in New Bron Falls and I stopped at the one in uh what is it it's TM to the temple yes
30:01
the temple i stopped at that one that was good that bathroom was empty i know
30:06
cuz I farted and I heard it for like 3 minutes like an echo just kept traveling in the bathroom
30:13
and you see those bathrooms right they're awesome as soon as you walk towards the bathroom the walls are covered there's art yeah yeah the B you
30:21
guys know what I'm talking about right it's like a a bunch of redneck Picassos
30:26
you see like deer American flag honey rifles you know antlers i'm like "Oh my god." And I have half of that stuff in
30:32
my living room now there you go their bathrooms are second none like we were saying earlier like the first time I ever went to a Buffy's I was genuinely
30:39
floored how nice and clean they were i was like "Really i'm going to be talking about their bathrooms that's what I'm
30:44
going to be talking about how nice their bathrooms are?" Someone told me that's their selling point oh is it okay there
30:50
you go i mean so a lady go she was "Oh people will hold it for 2 hours."
30:57
But she didn't tell me what she meant by that i'm like "That just sounds weird." And then I get there and they're like
31:03
"First time?" I go "Yes first time it's in the back."
31:09
All right we got another question right here alex from Dubai he's asking alex from Dubai where you at bro
31:16
he's asking "Your stories about traveling the world are hilarious which country has given you the most unexpected or funny material for your
31:23
shows?" Wow that's a great question uh Eris I I've performed in 30 plus
31:29
countries 30 plus countries number one question I get is do I perform in other
31:35
languages and the answer is no the majority of the world uh you know places I go people speak English and there's
31:42
also a lot of expats out there um but the country that's given me the most material probably Australia
31:50
australians are fun they're a good time please elaborate well I mean they're a good time it's like you go out there
31:56
they want to laugh and have fun but they will say things at the table that you know I don't know if cancel culture's
32:01
gotten there yet gotcha gotcha i don't want to repeat it i want to come back
32:06
next year all right we got uh Maria from El Paso
32:12
Texas maria she's asking "You performed everywhere from small clubs to ceilings
32:18
uh to selling out Dodger Stadium what's been your most memorable or surreal moment on stage?"
32:25
Almost 30 years of doing this there's there's too many great memories to pull from but I always tell people like the
32:33
biggest day of my career was in fact performing at Dodger State biggest show
32:38
of my life biggest career moment i honestly thought about retiring that night just because how do you top that
32:46
how do you set a new goal i don't want to become a a a shell of myself or have people go "Remember when he was funny
32:53
and then he did the fan expo and pissed people off and so sad it's so sad his
33:00
pictures are free now." Yeah so sad what happened to him
33:08
in the bathroom Christopher Lloyd we'll take you back to 1997
33:13
you're on top let's go fluffy boy don you made a time machine out of a
33:20
refrigerator the way I see it if you're going to travel you need snacks
33:26
i'm sorry i watched that movie a million times thank you Dude it's a comfort movie for me like Back to the Future is one of those films I could have it
33:33
playing 24/7 i never get tired of If it's on I leave it on right if I'm
33:38
flipping through and I right there I just believe it's currently on Netflix put it on background music but it's like
33:44
it's one of those things one of those movies too you put it on so like while you're clean or whatever then you just get sucked in you see it a thousand times and you're still watching it uh we
33:51
actually have a question from Emily from Sydney Australia oh shoot
33:57
oh you're trouble now Mike you see what you did there um she's asking uh "Your shows bring
34:04
together people from all backgrounds through laughter." She says "What's your secret to making comedy that connects
34:10
with everyone?" I think the secret is it's not always what you say it's what you don't say
34:18
people get rubbed the wrong way when you start trying to push an agenda political views or whatever it is that you're
34:25
trying to push people a lot of times they don't want to hear it are are you at a pol you know political rally or are
34:32
you at a comedy show if you're at a comedy show you're there to laugh and I just want to make you laugh that's all I
34:38
want i want to make you laugh i'm not here to make you think i'm not here to sway you or or change your opinion if
34:45
anything I want to encourage people to to enjoy life more to laugh more to have
34:50
more fun and I I think one of the most amazing things is to see how diverse the
34:58
audiences are because when you remove the politics the religion and the the
35:03
sports cuz sports clearly upsets people you take out things from your show that
35:10
divide people and you'll see how quickly people come together to support and
35:15
laugh and have fun that's why I said it's unity through laughter
35:20
that's it uh about 15 years ago I did a show in Saudi
35:27
Arabia and it's one of those things where anytime you tell people you're
35:32
going to a country that that has some type of history to it where you're like "Ooh you went there like were you safe?"
35:40
Like immediately I'm like "Were you safe?" I'm like "Yeah I was there with a prince was he nice?" "Yeah it was cool
35:46
you know you weren't in danger." "No it was nice." Nobody can believe these stories and so I went there under a a
35:55
prince's invitation to to be in the country and the United States ambassador
36:02
found out that I was there that there's an American there performing now keep in mind this is years ago before all the
36:08
shows in Dubai and all these other countries that have entertainment all the time it wasn't always the case and
36:14
so I was there early on i was very much like okay like you know people were like
36:19
you're Mexican you snuck into another country i'm like oh my god really yes I did so
36:26
next thing you know I'm on the base and uh I met the US ambassador and he
36:32
was blown away at the fact that I was there and his only question was "Can I come watch?" He wanted to come watch the
36:39
show and so I come out on stage and I have the United States ambassador sitting in the front row right next to
36:46
the prince who invited me to be there to do the shows and these two people would have never met it took a comic telling
36:54
jokes for these two people to come together give it up
37:00
and so that's why not always what you say it's what you don't say you want to
37:05
let people know it's a safe place to come and laugh and have fun and yes I do push the envelope from time to time i
37:11
get a little colorful with the language but you know I I hear people in the parking lot too you guys Gus yeah I got
37:18
to park how far what the but I don't do it for the whole show
37:24
it's very very minimal i love it now we got time for probably one two more questions here so we can get through
37:30
them uh Sarah from Dallas is asking "Your weight loss journey and health transformation have inspired many fans
37:36
how has it changed your approach to comedy and life i know he said weight loss and some of you were like he's
37:42
still fat i say no loss
37:48
so at my heaviest at my heaviest I Yeah
37:53
at my heaviest I was uh pushing 450 450 lbs and currently I'm right around 320
38:00
so yes yeah awesome that's awesome i'm still big but you know I was bigger
38:08
bigger is better but I'm sorry what was the the question on that one uh how has uh your weight loss journey affected
38:14
your approach with your standup and life during the the shows I know I'm making fun right now but during the shows for
38:20
the most part I think we're we're over it so I just talk about anything and everything else i don't have to address
38:25
it it's not like a you know in the beginning of course I would make it a thing but I just want to have fun and so
38:31
uh for me I think my favorite part of of losing that much weight is being able to
38:36
share that with some people that are struggling with it and give my little tips and hey man I struggled and I I was
38:42
going through this or that like my favorite thing to tell people that are trying to lose weight drink a 32 oouncez
38:49
cup of water or whatever drink you want to drink that's sugar-free first make that the base so you're already half
38:56
full and then eat whatever you want and you'll notice I'll be the first thing that cuts a bunch of weight off of you because you're filled with fluid there
39:03
you go think of that space right i'm not a doctor but I've I've lost weight that way
39:08
cuz people say "I can't stop eating what I like." I agree i need beaver nuggets
39:14
so but I drink the 32 ounces of water first and I only eat half the bag now so
39:20
there you go all right so we're going to we're going to end on this last question actually I think it's a an important question especially talking to you so
39:26
it's from Diego from St marggo Texas um from performing as San Marcos yeah they're they're asking what your advice
39:32
or what advice you would give to young comedians trying to find their voice my advice to young comedians trying to
39:39
find their voice ooh it it takes a minute for that um I think the fact that
39:45
the new generation has so much available technology and ways of getting your
39:52
message out there where bless you there's co 22 right there in the front
39:59
no uh I think that they need to take advantage of all that social media and all that stuff the Tik Tok videos I
40:05
think Tik Tok's a lot of fun and as long as you make it fun and keep it fun that's a good place to start to to break
40:12
the ground to interact with people but at some point if you're going to be on stage you just got to get on stage and
40:18
it's going to take time there's no real like secret to it you just got to get to the point where you're so comfortable on
40:25
stage you're fine with people being quiet i always say if the audience is quiet
40:31
that's not a bad thing if you're quiet that means you're listening and it's a
40:37
talkative crowd that you don't want to be in front of cuz they're like you know we didn't pay for this better be funny like oh shoot yeah
40:44
trying to find your voice took me took me a while to get into that groove i I think it took probably 5 years before I
40:52
felt really really comfortable i used to perform really fast my my jokes and everything I was doing was really really
40:58
fast because I wanted to get to the punchline because the silence scared me i thought that if I was if the crowd was
41:05
quiet I was failing i'm sure there's obviously a science to it in a lot of ways i mean timing you hear from a lot
41:11
of comedians you know obviously I don't know much about this but I hear from people like you you know legends doing it that timing is everything you got to
41:17
have that pause that beat if you will and that kind of sets up the punch line yeah and the beauty of comedy is that
41:24
there's comedy for everyone there's there's different types of comedy there's setup punch there's storytellers
41:29
there's ventriloquist there's people that use musical instruments prop acts there's so many different types of
41:35
entertainment out there so if you're a new entertainer cuz I'll call you i call you if you're a new entertainer you're
41:41
trying to find out what's best for you try everything try everything until something sticks but at least give what
41:48
you're trying a chance to catch you know don't give don't bail on it right away
41:53
give it a give it a chance to to you know catch on yeah well I could talk to you all day i'm sure you they would love
41:59
to listen to you talk all day but we do have to wrap up but before before I let you go will you be doing signings today
42:06
photo ops maybe uh yes oh before I forget I wanted to give something away uh yeah we got some we got some stuff in
42:13
the back thank you
42:20
thank you Tracy this is a uh a Funko Pop of me uh these
42:27
came out at Wrestlemania it's me in my wrestling outfit there you go fun fun
42:33
fact uh with Funko uh I I like bringing this up because and it's crazy because
42:40
Batman only Batman has more Funko Pops than I do but as far as a real person
42:47
goes I I have the most i I got the the record 14 14 pops
42:56
and here's an awesome story i I have the record for the most Oh I have the record for the most Funko Pops made of a person
43:04
uh years ago when I approached Funko I called Funko and I said "Hey um you guys
43:11
don't have a comedy edition of Funko Pops you got you know TV shows even uh
43:17
YouTubers and stuff but they didn't have standup comics." And I said "I would like to you know throw my hat in the
43:24
ring basically and say hey can we have a comedy one i'd like to be the first one." They said "Well we know who you
43:30
are but we don't think that there's a market for you." like "All right whatever." I tried again a couple years
43:37
later and I said "Listen I'm calling you again i want to see about having Funko you know with with comedy a comedy
43:43
edition there's a lot of really popular funny comics out there can we have one?" And they said "Look
43:49
we're not interested in licensing a Funko Pop of you however if uh we would
43:59
be okay with producing them making them for you but you got to buy a minimum
44:04
quantity and they threw an a crazy number at me I think thinking that I would have bowed down and been like "No
44:10
no that's too much." And I said "Okay." I said "Okay." And a semitr pulled up to
44:18
my place with thousands of Funkos and I put them online and we sold out the
44:24
first weekend that's amazing awesome it gets better it gets better so we called
44:30
Funko we said "Oh we need more." And they're like "What do you mean more we just sent the semi." I said "Yeah they sold out." And I like "What they sold
44:35
out?" I go "Yeah we need another semi." And when the second one showed up we sold those out too wow so then they
44:42
called me and they said "Can we talk about licensing?"
44:47
[Applause] And my favorite thing was to say "No you
44:52
already messed up so Funko never sold my pops at the
44:58
stores or on the Funko website only I'm allowed to sell them exclusively through my
45:08
But a lot of times you're going to hear no if there's something that you want to do and it depends on how you know how
45:15
bad do you want it are you willing to continue to push and push even when people tell you no to your face and so
45:22
the fact that they said no the way that they did and now I'm the number one
45:27
Funko Pop sold basically there we go give it up man that's an awesome and to be given an award by the founder
45:34
of Funko Mike Becker gave you this beautiful award at San Diego Comic-Con he's like "You're the most popped
45:39
individual um you have more pops than Snoop Dogg more than more than LeBron."
45:45
He goes "Only Batman has more." Which is the irony fully full circle
45:54
but uh yeah so I would like to give uh this away and I'm I'm happy to personalize it and sign it we just need
46:00
to figure out who should get it so can you help me or give us a suggestion i have a suggestion so there was a girl here who was her first Comic-Con she's
46:07
10 years old she's front row was it the one that sneezed
46:12
it is oh wow so that would be my suggestion but whatever you'd want to do
46:19
i think I'm going to sound like a horrible person say no to the 10-year-old in the front row besides I'm all about the kids you got You got it
46:25
first fan expo oh 9 years old oh now she's nine she's nine you made it even
46:30
harder you made it even harder she's nine all right mexican
46:39
so I guess you'll you'll sign it what is your name
46:45
kaitlyn all right Kaitlyn um I look I got a marker on me right here all right
46:51
spell your name for me okay good it's a C
47:01
there you go i always ask how to spell it cuz just because you think you know like a Carmen you know they're like "Oh
47:07
it's with a K." Okay all right here we go
47:12
all right all right this is for you right here while we upset the rest of the room
47:20
thank you wait you got to do that again do that can you do that again just do that again
47:26
remind them that you're superior remind your hands up there you go yeah
47:33
all right everyone we got to let Fluffy go we'll be at his booth over uh signing and taking uh pictures yes so uh I'll be
47:40
over there uh I think yeah I it's one of those they they keep telling me you got to go over
47:46
there now you got to go over there you got to stand right there you got to take picture over there so one of those I know I'm going to be at the booth
47:52
eventually and I know I'm also doing the photo thing but I'll be here till the closest there you go give it up for me
47:57
one more time you guys i'll see you guys at Bies or on the I35
48:03
and if you see a turn of Sienna that might be me 18 cup holders be bing
