Hello and welcome to another episode of
0:02
Tales from the Collection. Today I'm
0:03
going to be showing you some of the
0:04
recent successes that I've gotten over
0:06
the last couple of months and apologies
0:07
for it being such a delay in my latest
0:10
video. Uh I've got a lot going on, but
0:13
I'm here back and I'm ready to show you
0:14
some of the great actors, athletes,
0:17
public figures who've responded to fan
0:18
mail and send me autographs, personal
0:20
notes, and responded to interview
0:22
questions. So, let's go ahead and get
0:24
into it. All right. First up, I've got
0:26
this great success from Boy George. I
0:28
wrote to him via Mulan Rouge the M
0:30
musical. This is a Broadway play that he
0:32
was on and he was doing really good
0:35
signing for people. He signed two 8x10
0:37
photos for me. I saw that he signed even
0:40
uh more multiples of photos for other
0:42
people like up to four uh for some
0:44
people who sent that many. Um he signed
0:47
really nice signature. It's big black.
0:49
Takes up the whole photo. Like you don't
0:50
really see signatures that big, but I
0:53
think it looks uh really cool on these
0:54
photos. Uh this one from him back in the
0:57
80s. This one a more modern photo. Um,
1:00
but here you got the love love boy
1:03
George there. Pretty cool. Pretty cool.
1:06
All right. Next up, we've got Jesse
1:07
Cordy. He was also on Broadway, so I
1:09
took advantage of that and wrote to him
1:11
and uh requested that he signed two 8x10
1:13
photos for me of Leaf Foy, who was in uh
1:17
Beauty and the Beast, of course. And um
1:19
I sent him the two 8x10s, but he also
1:21
sent me two of his own photos. Um you
1:24
know, these are larger than 5x7s.
1:27
um signed these all the best Leaf Foy
1:31
Jesse Lordi and uh signed two of those
1:34
and then I sent him this photo all the
1:38
best and then this one as well with him
1:41
and Gaston. So I guess I need to get
1:44
Gaston's voice actor. I got to figure
1:45
out who that is and maybe send this off.
1:47
We'll see. All right, next one. We're
1:50
going into another Broadway special.
1:52
This one is actually um off Broadway
1:54
play. Uh this one was from Katsura
1:57
Sunshine and uh this was sent to me by
2:00
the cast. They sent me this nice um you
2:04
know show program. So it's not quite a
2:06
play bill. Um so some of the off
2:08
Broadway ones don't have actual play
2:10
bills. They just have these uh you know
2:11
whatever program that they have. Also
2:13
sent this nice gift. Um anyone who is
2:16
particularly familiar with Japanese
2:18
culture, please let me know what this is
2:21
called, what exactly it's used for. Um I
2:24
don't I also got a Daruma here. Um,
2:27
yeah. What are these used for? Let me
2:28
know in the comments, please. Thank you.
2:30
And, uh, thank you for Katsura Sunshine.
2:32
I really appreciate you guys. Um, thank
2:35
you so much. So, I've had some really
2:36
great successes by writing to wrestlers
2:39
via the WWE Performance Center, and
2:41
here's a really good example of one of
2:42
those. This one is from Kendall Gray.
2:44
Uh, unfortunately, she did not uh,
2:46
respond to my interview questions, but
2:48
she did sign both of my 8x10 photos. Uh,
2:51
one from her Instagram right here. this
2:53
this shot and then uh just one standard
2:56
studio shot here. She signed both of
2:58
them beautifully in silver Sharpie. So,
3:00
thank you so much, Kendall. Really
3:02
appreciate the response. All right. Now,
3:04
we got one from Rosemary Harris. Uh she
3:07
played Aunt May in uh the original
3:09
Spider-Man movies. And um yeah, this one
3:13
was really cool. I really wanted this
3:14
one. Uh so, I was super happy to get it
3:15
back. She signed two photos for me. This
3:17
one kind of like a behind thescenes
3:19
shot. And then this one um from a
3:22
different movie, Rosemary Harris. Pretty
3:25
cool. Uh couldn't find it was really
3:27
hard actually finding good quality
3:28
photos to get her to sign. Um really
3:30
wish I could have had something a little
3:32
bit better for second Spider-Man shot,
3:34
but uh this one was good quality, so I
3:36
sent it to her and I think it came out
3:38
pretty good. And now we have one from
3:40
Gail Herd. She's a very famous producer,
3:43
of course, having worked on Terminator
3:45
and many other big blockbuster films.
3:46
She signed two out of two 8x10 photos
3:49
for me. Uh here's the other one. Um
3:52
couldn't find a again like a really
3:53
great photo. This one I actually had to
3:56
do some editing in Canva to like make it
3:59
fit into an 8x10 format. I had to move
4:01
her she was like off frame. I had to
4:03
move her over and like do some editing
4:06
magic. So this is not like the actual
4:08
original photo. It's a little bit
4:09
doctorred, but like it came out like
4:11
really good. So I'm super happy with it.
4:13
Uh fit great into an 8x10 photo now. And
4:16
uh I can't tell the difference. Looks
4:17
great. So little bit proud of myself for
4:20
that one. So So anyway, thank you very
4:23
much. So here's one for the video game
4:25
fans like myself. Uh we got one from
4:29
Erica Lindbeck. Of course, she played
4:32
Futaba in Persona 5 and was also in
4:35
Cyberpunk 2077.
4:37
Both like super fantastic, incredible
4:39
games. Uh so I was really happy to get a
4:41
response back from Erica. Um, loved both
4:44
of them a lot and uh, yeah, these ones
4:47
are going to be making a great addition
4:49
to my collection. So, thank you very
4:51
much, Miss Linbeck. This is from Urice.
4:54
Now, of course, the big star from this
4:56
play was Maya Hawk. She, of course, is
4:58
the daughter of Ethan Hawk and Uma
5:00
Thurman and well known for her role in
5:03
uh, Stranger Things and Get Revenge and
5:06
all kinds of other good stuff. So, uh,
5:08
pretty big actress and, uh, also a
5:10
musician as well. Uh, so I've gotten
5:12
some autographs from her from her music
5:15
shop over the years, but uh, I wanted to
5:16
write to her via the play. Uh,
5:19
unfortunately I got the play bill back.
5:20
It looks like it's signed by the entire
5:22
cast minus my hawk, unfortunately. And
5:25
of course, that was the one who I really
5:26
wanted an autograph from. Um, but hey,
5:30
that's okay. She did sign for some
5:31
people that did see that, but um, I
5:33
guess I wasn't lucky this time, but
5:35
that's okay. All right, here's a cool
5:37
success. This one is from Annie Pototts.
5:39
You can see that she signed both of
5:40
these Ghostbusters 8 by10s. Uh she
5:43
signed them right here. You also noticed
5:46
that there's some other signatures on
5:47
here. I've been working on these photos
5:49
for I don't know maybe 3 4 months or so.
5:53
I've been sending them out and uh
5:55
getting signatures and then sending them
5:57
back out for other people to sign. So
5:59
this is my third signature on these
6:00
photos. Um, this one is signed by
6:04
Sheldon Khan and then this one by Roa
6:07
Jimmy Johnny. Um, I think I probably
6:10
butchered that last name, but um, yeah,
6:12
three Ghostbusters actors uh, on these
6:15
photos here and I'm going to send them
6:17
out uh, for more. I think William
6:18
Athetherton is going to be the next
6:20
person I'm requesting from. And uh, you
6:22
know, every time you send these out like
6:23
you cross your fingers and you kind of
6:25
hope that you're going to get them back,
6:26
but there's like no guarantee that that
6:28
will happen. So, you know, fingers
6:32
crossed that we get them back, but every
6:33
time I send them out, that might be the
6:35
last time that I ever see them. So, you
6:37
know, you're really kind of uh rolling
6:38
the dice each time you do that. Um, but,
6:41
you know, it's also fun and doing
6:42
getting like a multi-piece, multi-
6:44
signature piece from uh through the
6:46
mail, from the comfort of your own home.
6:49
Um, it's cool. It's a good time. All
6:52
right. Those familiar with studio fan
6:54
mail will probably recognize this photo.
6:57
This one is from Alyssa Milano. I did
6:59
write to her um not via the studio fan
7:01
mail address, but my letter got
7:03
forwarded there anyway. And I got this
7:05
preprinted autograph from Studio Fan
7:07
mail uh with a faux signature by Alyssa
7:11
Milano. So, uh you know, it's a nice
7:14
photo. Some people just throw these in
7:16
the trash. I collect them. You know, I
7:17
think they're still kind of cool little,
7:19
you know, souvenir type deals. Like
7:22
they're collectible in their own right,
7:24
even though they're not authentic
7:25
autographs. Um I still think they're
7:27
cool. And I mean, at least, you know,
7:29
hey, Melissa Milano, Alyssa Milano, she
7:32
uh she paid for this out of her own
7:34
pocket, right? Uh she paid the company
7:36
to ship it. She paid for the photo. Um
7:39
you know, so she's still doing something
7:40
for her fans. I'll take this any day
7:43
over just not getting anything back in
7:46
response. Like, at least it shows some
7:48
level of care. You know, not everybody
7:50
can respond to every letter. Um I think
7:53
it's something that's kind of cool.
7:55
though. Um, you know, leave in the
7:57
comments what you do with your
7:58
preprinted or secretarial, etc. Uh, what
8:01
do you do? Throw them out, keep them,
8:03
let me know. All right, here's a signed
8:06
play bill. This one from Boop the
8:07
Musical. Uh, it's got the whole cast
8:09
here. It wasn't like incredibly
8:11
prominent actors in this play. Um, but I
8:14
thought it was pretty cool. Um, and I
8:16
actually waited like I don't know,
8:18
probably like two maybe 3 months to get
8:20
this response, so I didn't think it was
8:22
coming back. Um, but I'm happy that it
8:24
did come. Um, everything was signed very
8:26
nice. Nothing, none of the signatures
8:28
smudged or anything. Came out looking
8:30
great. So, thank you very much to the
8:31
cast and crew of Boob the Musical. All
8:34
right, this one is probably the one that
8:36
I am most excited about. I think you can
8:37
probably tell from the smile on my face.
8:39
This is coming from Honobu Sakaguchi,
8:42
who is of course the creator of Final
8:44
Fantasy, the from the very beginning,
8:47
he's the dude who came up with the games
8:49
over there at Square. So, uh, I sent to
8:52
him three of these little mini postcard
8:56
things that came packed in with Final
8:58
Fantasy 10 for the PS VA. I saw that
9:00
someone had gotten a success from him
9:02
and immediately like had to jump on it.
9:04
I was like, "Oh my goodness, this guy's
9:06
signing." Um, I love the Final Fantasy
9:08
series, so I just I kind of grabbed what
9:11
I could get and sent it out as soon as I
9:13
could. I didn't want to miss that train.
9:15
So, uh, I found these in one of my old,
9:19
um, PS VA games, as I mentioned, and I
9:22
sent all three of them, and he signed
9:24
all three, even with these cool Chocobo
9:26
doodles. Like, it's sick. It's super
9:29
sick, guys. So, uh, thank you very much,
9:31
Honobu. Totally appreciate that. You're
9:34
awesome. Thank you. All right, here's a
9:36
great Broadway success. This one coming
9:38
from Satie Sync and the rest of the cast
9:40
at John Proctor is the Villain. Uh, she
9:43
signed two photos or I'm sorry, she
9:46
signed two play bills, one for me and
9:47
one for my son. Um, this one, um, and
9:52
there are two different variants of the
9:53
play bill. Uh, this one kind of
9:55
featuring the whole cast. This was the
9:57
original one. They kind of moved to this
9:59
one a little bit later on. Um, both
10:01
signed by Satie Sync. Um
10:04
although
10:06
you know looking at these now I mean the
10:08
the signatures
10:12
you know those are quite different. So I
10:14
wonder if we got a secretarial on one of
10:16
these. Um
10:18
I don't know. What do you guys think?
10:20
Let me know. Uh I'll do some research on
10:21
my end after the video. Uh but let me
10:23
know which which one of these looks good
10:25
to you. Do any look good to you? Sync.
10:28
What do you think?
10:31
Now, these uh the two Tim and the two
10:34
Owen, those look like the same
10:36
handwriting, but the signatures look
10:38
totally different. So, they could have
10:39
had a secretary doing the dedications
10:42
after she had signed. Um, that's
10:46
possible. But yeah, that's Let's figure
10:49
this one out, guys. What do you think?
10:51
All right, we got two play bills here
10:52
signed by George Clooney and the rest of
10:54
the cast of Good Night and Good Luck.
10:56
Now, if you can probably find the George
10:59
Clooney autograph on both of these
11:01
fairly easy because it's the most messed
11:03
up one, unfortunately, it's like totally
11:06
destroyed. A lot of these signatures,
11:08
man, they they must have just signed
11:09
these wet and just threw them on top of
11:11
each other. Like, I don't know what they
11:14
were thinking. But here, the worst one,
11:16
absolute worst one, except for maybe
11:18
this one is right here. George Clooney.
11:21
Ah, that pains me. It looks so bad. It
11:23
looks so so bad. And they they were
11:26
asking if you wanted to get one of
11:28
these, they were asking for a $200
11:29
donation. And this is the kind of
11:32
autograph
11:33
that they sent. Um
11:36
Yeah. Yeah. But uh here's this one. Um
11:39
this one actually looks pretty good. You
11:40
know, this George Pony here, except for
11:42
it's covered by whoever this is with a
11:45
smeared up autograph underneath it. So,
11:48
uh kind of both of these are a little
11:49
bit of failures. Um I mean, I'm happy to
11:51
get them. Like honestly, I'm happy to
11:53
get them. I did make a big donation. So,
11:55
it's not like it was out of my, you
11:57
know, it was completely free or
11:59
anything, but um
12:01
yeah, um very happy I got these, but
12:04
yeah, I wish they would have taken a
12:06
little bit more care, especially for the
12:07
price that they were asking for these
12:08
guys. So, but anyway, you know, you kind
12:11
of roll the dice sometimes and this is
12:13
what I got. But now I got a George
12:15
Clooney in my autograph collection. So,
12:17
uh you know, can't be too mad about it.
12:20
All right, here's a cool one. This one
12:21
is from Princess Stephanie of Monaco. Uh
12:24
don't have a lot of princesses in my
12:26
autograph collection. Um not a whole lot
12:27
of royalty. There's some here and there.
12:30
Um I remember early on getting a
12:32
response from uh the king of Spain and
12:35
then uh last month I got one from uh the
12:38
former queen of Iran. So I mean you know
12:43
there's some in there but uh this is
12:45
pretty cool. This one from Princess
12:47
Stephanie of Monaco, a real life
12:49
princess. you know, probably typically
12:51
more likely to get an autograph from a
12:54
Disney princess or something like that.
12:56
Um, but yeah, who who would have thought
12:59
you could write to a princess and get
13:02
some kind of a response like now, as far
13:04
as the signature goes, like um,
13:09
you know, I'm not sure if it's
13:10
preprinted or if it's an actual Sharpie.
13:12
I got to look at some of the other um,
13:15
responses out there to actually see
13:16
what's up. But it looks like it could be
13:18
a Sharpie. Could also be a preprint. Um,
13:22
kind of hard to tell right now without
13:24
some further examination. So, I don't
13:26
know. Let me know if you guys uh have
13:27
seen other examples and what they look
13:29
like. All right. Now, we got Robert
13:31
England coming up. Of course, he is
13:33
known as Freddy Krueger.
13:36
And um he's got this really cool uh
13:39
stamp that he puts on his stuff with a
13:40
Freddy Krueger claw glove mechanism that
13:44
he's got going on. out these really
13:45
cool, nicely signed and paint pen um
13:49
little photos. And then he has also sent
13:53
some cool stuff that you can get from
13:54
his shop if you want to buy directly
13:56
from him. Um so definitely plugging
13:58
that. Um if you want to go get order an
14:00
8x10 or something like that of a larger
14:02
size, then you can do it directly from
14:04
his website. Dude's a really nice guy,
14:06
really cool to his fans. So highly
14:08
encourage you to do that for sure. All
14:10
right, I got another one coming in from
14:11
Julia Doyle. She is a professional
14:14
soccer player. Uh she signed 1 2 3 four
14:17
cards for me which was very nice of her.
14:20
Uh she wrote me a nice little note and
14:22
she sent her own. Unfortunately got
14:25
folded because my envelope wasn't big
14:26
enough. She sent me my own about 5x7. Um
14:31
she sent her own 5x7 photo. Um so pretty
14:35
cool.
14:36
Okay.
14:39
Not doing that.
14:42
Next up, we have soccer player Julie
14:45
Doyle. She was very kind. She signed
14:47
one, two, three, four trading cards for
14:50
me and wrote this very nice personalized
14:52
note and um super happy to get it. Uh
14:55
really appreciate her taking the time to
14:57
sign for me. Got a cool one here from
15:00
Michael Carter. He of course played Bib
15:02
Fortuna in Star Wars uh both Return of
15:04
the Jedi and I think uh what was it
15:07
episode one? And um you can see that he
15:10
signed three cards for me. Um two of
15:13
them came out pretty smudge. This one
15:15
came out nice, nice and clean. But these
15:17
two didn't quite make it in shipping
15:19
very well, but that's okay. You know,
15:22
two out of three ain't so bad. Um
15:26
yeah, I use I just have these two like
15:28
little top loading um card protectors
15:31
here. put some painters tape around
15:33
them, stick them together, and they do,
15:36
you know, it prevents them from bending,
15:37
prevents the signer from signing on any
15:40
kind of sleeve or protector that you
15:42
have. Um, but you know, I guess, uh,
15:46
sometimes you run the risk of getting
15:48
your autograph smudged up like this.
15:50
Normally that doesn't happen, though.
15:51
Um,
15:53
there's really no perfect way. A lot of
15:55
times if you send something inside a
15:57
protector, um, you know, that'll keep
15:59
the card safe from being bent, but
16:01
sometimes people just don't take it out
16:02
and they sign the protector and not the
16:03
card. And, um, I'd rather have a card
16:07
with a little bit of smudge than a
16:08
signed protector. So, uh, you know, you
16:10
win some, you lose some, but Michael
16:12
signed three out of three, so I really
16:14
appreciate that from him. Thanks,
16:16
Michael. Here's another one that I was
16:18
really happy to get. This one is from
16:19
Phil Hardage. He was the writer at Dee,
16:22
which you may know as the animation
16:24
studio who made all the old Nintendo
16:27
animations. Uh Super Mario Brothers,
16:29
Super Super Mario Brothers 3, uh Super
16:32
Mario Brothers World, and uh you Super
16:34
Mario Brothers Super Show, Legend of
16:36
Zelda, Captain N, like all those things.
16:38
They, you know, made Captain Planet 2,
16:41
um all kinds of shows. Inspector Gadget,
16:44
uh Sailor Moon even was from them. Um,
16:47
so he was the writer on all those shows.
16:50
Um, but yeah, I was really interested in
16:53
the Nintendo stuff in particular, and he
16:55
agreed to an interview with me, which
16:56
you can find on tailscollection.com/ins.
17:00
Uh, it was a really in-depth uh,
17:02
interview. Talked to him for about an
17:03
hour on the phone, and um, he signed
17:06
these vintage trading cards for me. Uh,
17:08
these were from like, uh, kind of like
17:11
old trick-or-treating card packs. You
17:14
give those out as treats instead of
17:16
candy. And these were like some
17:17
collectible stickers that they had from
17:19
I think Topps made those. So, um yeah, I
17:22
got all three all four of those signed
17:24
by him and it was very cool. So, thank
17:25
you very much, Bill. All right, here we
17:27
go. Another cool Star Wars success also
17:29
on training cards. This one from John
17:31
Rasenberger. He played Major Bren Derlin
17:35
and uh this was on Empire Strikes Back.
17:37
Of course, as you can tell from the
17:38
uniform, he signed one, two, three,
17:42
three out of three cards for me. Uh very
17:44
kind of him. Of course, he's also well
17:45
known for his role on Cheers. So, um, if
17:49
you're bit of an old-timer, a little bit
17:51
older than myself even, you'll probably
17:53
recognize him from that role as well.
17:55
But, uh, me as a Star Wars fan, I wrote
17:57
to him strictly for the Star Wars role.
18:00
And, um, yeah, actually had to order
18:02
some of these cards. Uh, didn't have
18:04
them myself, so I had to go to eBay. He
18:07
doesn't really have like trading cards
18:09
that are really featuring his image um
18:11
other than on the trading card uh
18:13
collectible trading card game. So, uh
18:15
these are the ones that I found and uh
18:17
yeah, super happy to have them added to
18:18
my collection. Appreciate him signing
18:20
all three of them. And pretty much there
18:22
you have it. I do have another stack of
18:23
uh index cards that I got signed, but um
18:26
you know, they don't make for as good
18:27
YouTube, so we're just going to stick to
18:29
the photos for now. Um you know, if you
18:31
guys really miss seeing the index cards
18:33
and who else was signing through the
18:34
mail, uh you can let me know in the
18:36
comments. And uh maybe I'll make another
18:38
video including them or just including
18:39
them in the next video that I have. But
18:42
I really appreciate you guys sticking
18:43
around to see which celebrities are
18:45
actually signing through the mail right
18:46
now and the kind of stuff that you can
18:48
actually get if you take the time to
18:49
write. So appreciate you guys. If you
18:52
haven't commented, please comment. If
18:53
you haven't subscribed, click the
18:54
button. It really helps my channel. I'm
18:56
a super small channel. Uh do this
18:58
basically for zero dollars. Um but your
19:02
support does help. Uh, I would really
19:04
love to grow the channel and kind of get
19:06
the word out about the through the mail
19:07
autograph collecting hobby and about
19:09
some of the great interviews and stuff
19:10
that I do. Um, it really helps me to do
19:13
more of this stuff when I have more
19:15
people watching. So, I would really
19:17
appreciate any kind of support that you
19:18
guys could give. Um, but regardless, I'm
19:21
happy that you guys are here and
19:22
sticking around to watch. So, thank you
19:23
so much.
