let's bring out the cast of SWville we got Tom Welling Michael
0:06
Rosen Erica Durant and Laura Vander
0:13
hello we got the man
0:24
[Music] the car starting the music on
0:30
started i will say you guys are such an inspiration not just to them but to me
0:36
literally me and my partner thank you we both have like Kryptonian tattoos based
0:42
on Smallville nerd what does it say this is our it's our it's our anniversary date actually oh I can't read Kryptonian
0:48
but she she didn't know what it was either but the truth is I was like it looks cool for me so we're just going to get before or after the tattoo she she
0:54
she still kind of doesn't know what it is exactly i'm so far away from you guys
1:02
it's funny cuz Michael has a tattoo on his lower either hey I have all the guys
1:08
want and it's not easy
1:13
to shave my head no chair over there okay get out of here perfect sometimes I
1:19
get n All right there we go sometimes I bleed
1:25
this is how it was on set sorry I took Tom away i always do by myself this is
1:30
uh this is better for us anyway right um first I will say sorry I know you're trying to get started there there was a
1:36
point I don't know when it started but we have cast chairs and it got to a point where when I would come up set I
1:43
just didn't I didn't have any bandwidth or energy to talk to anybody so I remember saying to the cast like "I
1:50
don't want you guys to be offended but my cashier would always be like over there." And the other cashiers would be
1:56
here because I just needed like 5 minutes of no not talking to anybody and they're like "Yeah we don't care we
2:02
don't want to talk to you anyway." Yeah you're an [ __ ] frankie so we were like "Nah you go sit there." Hey did you
2:08
guys like Smallville Nights last night yes that was fun right
2:13
all right the first time I've ever seen a Smallville Nights and is well worth the price of admission jeez you guys
2:19
show you know what i've never seen a Smallville Nights because we've never been invited there's a reason for that
2:26
you just don't know what it is it's a secret yeah this is a little intimidating for me because uh I don't
2:33
think I would have a job had it not been for Michael Rosenbomb like indirectly because he is so incredible at Yeah
2:40
because you're so incredible at uh interviewing people that I use you for like research like I use your show for
2:47
research like John Reese Davies I just recently did a panel with him and I watched your whole thing and I was like "Dude there's so many little tidbits I
2:53
can dive into because of that." It's the only time you ever see him listening is when he's doing that that's true but you
2:59
do such a fantastic job on that so I I want to hear it anybody listen to inside of anybody listening inside of you mike
3:04
Rosemop please do subscribe you like it it's uh And talk yes he's coming he's
3:10
coming on eric is coming on laura's coming on it's gonna be great so there's so many episodes and we dive into real
3:16
stuff like mental health and life the one of the things that Michael does on the show which I've noticed is he he
3:21
only brings people on that he's genuinely interested in and that does come across like you're interested when
3:27
you talk to the people you're not just like I'm just filming an episode like you're into Yeah cuz I'm always trying to see what helps them get through life
3:35
what works for them so I'm like maybe this is it this thing I've been looking for so it's like Laura how do you do it
3:42
like what do you And just like maybe something she says might trigger something that might help me so I think
3:47
that's what it's all about but thank you that's awesome thank you thank you now question for you guys is Smallville
3:54
i was into the show or I got into the show because I'm a big Superman fan but I stayed for the show because it's a
4:00
real coming of age story about young people that all kind of feel like outsiders at some point that are just
4:06
trying to find their place um so for you guys what is it about Smallville uh that
4:12
what did Smallville get right for Superman's enduring legacy that you think uh the DC and all the fans just
4:18
embraced erica excuse me Tom it's your show talk about that i'm not talking
4:25
okay everybody loves the Superman mythology because I think they like the idea of good winning over evil they love
4:31
the nobility of You ask the question i know but I'm just looking at you anyways
4:36
it's my subtle pick it up i got you i got you no but I I think Well okay what
4:41
most people have said to me when they've come up to me specific to my character was that she was clumsy and human and
4:48
real and they felt like they could relate to her so I think that there's something in all of our journeys when we
4:54
were younger as characters finding ourselves that people were like I'm also a misfit i don't quite fit in and I have
5:00
something or someone to look up to yeah i think you also have everyone we have a choice no matter what circumstances you
5:07
know you have in terms of like you know Lex he still had a choice to do the right thing and he didn't and and it's
5:14
also the story before the story it's like I think it's really interesting to see how these characters evolved and
5:19
became Nemesis and and and that but I think it's about hope it's about um What
5:26
do you think it's about Tom i I always think it was it's a show about heart and I think that no matter what character
5:31
even Lex I mean everyone's attempting to lead with their heart and I think that's what was brought into each scene which
5:39
allows it to resonate beyond just what the words were and it's relatable too like you said like
5:46
You're okay i knew you were there hi can I just say one thing really quick oh boy diarrhea oh explosive diarrhea boom
5:56
[Applause] okay finish answering Laura uh Eric's going to slap you jesus Christ um no I
6:04
was just going to say because we're Kryptonian especially Tom and I on the show I was new to the show i felt like a
6:09
fish out of water this is an amazing cast i had already watched for six seasons so I think people related to the
6:16
fact that she felt like a fish out of water like we all feel like we don't belong in some way and I felt like I
6:21
didn't belong on the show cara didn't belong on Earth and we were just stumbling through it and learning i was
6:27
learning at the same time that she was and I think it worked well for the character that you know I had a lot to
6:32
learn and so did Cara and obviously with Tom on the show as well he had the same journey he was trying to figure out who
6:38
he was so I think that's what we all relate to that's incredible tom you're a
6:43
father now um do you I feel like we all kind of grew up as Jonathan Kent is our
6:49
dad on Smallville do you kind of see yourself uh kind of relating to Jonathan
6:54
a little bit more now that you're a dad to be honest I don't think I've ever
6:59
thought of Jonathan Kent during any fathering moments I've had um no offense to that but I do know when I did the the
7:06
crisis uh when I appeared on the crisis whatever that's called um and Clark had
7:11
given up his powers uh I remember going to set and the crew was the first time
7:17
they were ever there on the Kent farm and they were kind of trying to figure out where they were going to shoot and I was kind of like well you know this is
7:23
kind of a good spot because I didn't want to tell them what to do but I kind of knew what they needed to do and uh
7:29
when Clark goes and he's got the axe and he's chopping the wood I'm like "Okay cool do we have any gloves?" And they're
7:34
like "Gloves?" I'm like "Yeah well Clark doesn't have his abilities." And so I ended up borrowing some gloves from one
7:39
of the crew members and then what I sort of tried to inflect was Jonathan Kent
7:46
into Clark in that scene I kind of try to walk like him a little bit you know when I take off the glove jonathan Kent
7:53
thing jon was kind of like John is always kind of
7:58
John is very physical when he moves and stuff and so I tried to almost portray Jonathan Kent in that scene that I did
8:04
there that was the first time I've really tried to do that now if I could uh take you guys back to being on set of
8:11
Smallville um reflecting back if you could relive one scene not to change a
8:17
performance but to just kind of take it in and be in the moment what would that one scene be for each of you
8:24
i'm blanking mine would be the water tower scene my first episode because that was such an iconic moment on green
8:31
screen i didn't realize how big it would be for me to you know stand up and do the Supergirl pose for the first time so
8:37
I would have with the Kelly Clarkson song like it was just epic and I wish I had taken a moment to go this is this is
8:44
a moment but I was just so nervous I was going to get fired so now I appreciate it i wouldn't change anything i I don't
8:51
I don't know what I would do i just think you just do things naturally in the way you think of the time and that's
8:57
there's no right or wrong it's just I literally can't think of a thing i can't think of it i think what I would have
9:02
done but I you can't really cuz you can't replay the past but one of the
9:09
things that Tom said to me at one point when we were shooting is remember this
9:14
supposed to be fun and I think that I was so intent about it being something that you know it's perfect that I don't
9:21
mess up that I don't hold anybody back do something wrong that I I was forgetting to have fun and you compared
9:27
it to like me chatting with people before the scene started and he was like if you could just be a little of that
9:33
while we're working which is great so I I think I I wish I could have relaxed a little that is the best answer that we
9:41
could give so thank you i she speaks for all of us because just enjoying the
9:46
moment that goes for everybody even out there in your world it's like being in the moment we're always thinking about
9:51
the next thing about the next step about the future or the past just try to be in
9:56
that moment and enjoy it like this moment right now we have this moment and now it's gone now we're in the next
10:04
one like just try to hold on just try to enjoy it be be present what was your
10:10
guys's personal kryptonite during shooting something that you dreaded when you read a script and you knew ah this
10:16
is coming up monday mornings rain listening remember we did a scene where
10:22
we kind of flipped what we did where you had to talk all the time and then I had only like three or four lines and if I
10:28
can't drive a scene it's very hard for me well at least was on that show and I remember you and I expressed that to
10:33
each other you're like "Oh god I have so many lines." I was like "I've got nothing what do I do?" shirtless scenes too or like being sexy
10:41
sexy Lexi sexy Lexi didn't he hate like being all Man I want to see what does
10:46
sexy Lexi look like oh can you do balds that's sexier than what
10:53
he does sexy yes yeah sexy Lexi with diarrhea oh god
11:01
how about for you what was your own personal kryptonite on the show where you read something you like I have to do this i think
11:08
my I hate saying this my kryptonite was the outfits
11:13
the what the outfits that I had to wear sometimes we get excited to take parts yes so actors are all you know we're all
11:20
obnoxious and mirrored and sometimes lack a little bit of gratitude we'll be like I can't get a job i can't get a job
11:26
get a job we're like I hate the job and so sometimes what happens is we don't look at the things that we have to do at
11:32
least that's me and grateful and then I'm like "Oh crap I forgot I have to wear a bikini and something." I'm like
11:37
"Oh." Yeah i think on on Smallville especially at the like the time uh you
11:43
know some of the outfits they put us in were like Britney Spears inspired and that just wasn't what a superhero would
11:49
normally wear to get things done so I was young and and wore what I was told to wear but I look back now I'm like I
11:55
just wish I had said something like that would make me more comfortable sure sure you know Tom I also have those Ray-B
12:02
bands out of curiosity have you changed the voice on yours to any of these celebrity voices they had uh I actually
12:07
turned the voice off oh did you good on you i just like the idea i used these on vacation recently in Costa Rica
12:14
because I uh they take pictures they the these can take I just took your picture right now whether you like it or not but
12:21
what I liked is like playing with my kids and stuff i I got tired of being like wait and sticking a phone in their
12:27
face and the moment's gone because you're breaking breaking it and so just kind of wearing these around you can
12:32
kind of And there's good quality pictures great great great great sorry to bore you
12:38
uh I heard I'm live web streaming this whole thing right now i heard a rumor about a cruise yesterday
12:45
well can you uh give me a little bit more info on that actually I'm going to bring these on the cruise
12:52
about a week and a half away um take off from Orlando our the coast and then we
12:58
go down tickets available going to Hondur i know it's sold out coco K i think it's sold out the cruise is you
13:04
might want to get on there just in case Tom's wrong which is about JP he's not here he's at the JP knows if
13:12
anybody's interested come by my table and we'll let you know but um yeah it's a bunch of every day there's excursions
13:18
with different of different swim with the pigs me you're doing ruins right
13:23
versus snorkeling tom's I don't know you guys are going What are you doing zipline and I'm
13:31
going to learn about how to make chocolate chocolate yep we have a wine tasting wine tasting there we go karaoke
13:37
rock climbing petting sloth swimming is anybody going yeah there's a couple people i want two people great great
13:44
there's at least six people I've met this weekend who are all going and I'm like "Cool i'll see you in a week and a
13:49
half be fun." Michael uh go ahead what were you gonna say you don't need to
13:54
know what he's going to say i think that you were the good luck charm for DC all things DC from the Flash uh and the
14:01
Justice League and also as Lex Luthther um and I know you're friends with James Gunn uh and I and I feel that DC is on
14:08
on a research we got a Superman movie coming out this year um is that is there some a role in the new DCU that uh you'd
14:16
be interested in doing since you are the uh you know the good luck charm i don't
14:21
know you know James asked me to do something fun so I have uh a couple of lines in in the new Superman but it's
14:27
just a voice thing but it's funny in a way because of who I Anyway so you know
14:33
there was nothing in this one but I think you know like he's the head of DC
14:38
you think that he put one of his good friends in in in a movie or something so you know he's he's thoughtful so I hope
14:44
that happens but um I think the movie's going to be great comes out on my birthday
14:49
you did Guardians too i guess you know what are you doing in for your birthday guardians and um yeah he's he's he's one
14:55
of my best friends and he's uh he's very loyal and you know it's exciting i think he's got a great vision for for DC and
15:02
he's putting his heart and soul into it it stresses him out i can see he has no time he's just always working he wants
15:08
it to be great but I will say to your point I've never seen anything that involved Michael not get better facts
15:15
totally true don't worry about it something Okay
15:21
everything that exists or is going to happen that gets you involved gets better well thanks man you know I
15:27
understand 100% how about questions from the audience do they do that or they don't do that here i mean we can if you
15:33
want to what there's one person okay bye question for
15:40
So y'all got to work with John Glover and he looks like a serious guy and y'all are a bunch of clowns and so How
15:47
dare you did he get mad at you guys for breaking scenes yes Glover i don't break
15:54
scenes glover we got mad at him all the time well no but Glover was kind of upset with me in the beginning and then
16:01
he realized oh he's being this way this is Lex he's annoying me this is what
16:06
he's supposed to be doing so you know he was very He was John was always fun
16:12
though right lever was always fun on set but he was a little more serious so you know I was off serious meaning like
16:18
professional like he didn't goof off but he was always playful and fun i remember we
16:24
were in a a scene once in the K kitchen and I don't know what the scene was about but you know Lionel comes in and
16:30
Clark says something and Lionel's scene was next and I knew I knew what his line
16:37
was and he took a beat like I didn't but he wasn't saying anything so I I said his line to him like quietly and he goes
16:44
"Thank you Tom i'm taking a moment and I was like "Oh fuck." Like and I
16:50
felt so I'm still embarrassed to this day but he was just taking a action like an actor beat who's got a question for
16:56
Laura anyone who's got a question you got a question for Laura all right well let's do it this better be good i want
17:03
you to Oh by the way you guys want to come down here
17:08
let's uh do it all right yeah so they were talking by the way my name is
17:13
Carlton it was good to see you last night man hi Carlton um so my question was can you do it yeah exactly yeah yeah
17:21
so for Laura um like you said looking back on things I guess as an actress and
17:26
since your character was kind of getting to know herself what is something that you think your character let's say as
17:31
she's developed would say to her younger self if she could say something um what would I say now to my younger
17:39
self as Cara you have the power um you got the power yes i think it it
17:47
like all of us especially I personally feel women like we don't realize the power we hold that we can stand up and
17:54
do our own thing we don't you know I I I was young i didn't think I deserve the job all of those things i would tell
17:59
myself as an actress at that time too like you've got this you deserved it you earned it just enjoy it so I would tell
18:06
her she's got the power nice i learned something recently from a friend of mine
18:11
he's an actor and he and he wants to be a writer and he has sat in on writer rooms to get more experience to do that
18:17
and I asked him I said "What did you learn most?" He goes "Honestly Tom the thing I learned the most is that writers
18:23
want they love actors." And I was like "What do you mean?" He goes "You know how like when you feel like you can't speak to anybody or like there's no one
18:30
there to talk to or discuss?" He goes "Writers love it when you talk to them like they just don't want to bother
18:35
you." And I felt like that was so encouraging to create like Laura you were talking about those dialogues where
18:41
you feel like you have a voice or at least somebody to talk to the pace of television is very difficult though like you get a script you might be shooting
18:47
tomorrow to so to have that discussion is it's very timesensitive a lot of a
18:53
lot of times but I felt it was encouraging that to have those dialogues we have a question right here okay okay
19:00
so you guys talk in your podcast about how people get a lot of concussions on the show and just sort of get Oh yeah
19:06
knocked out my friends and I made these grease splits um because we have this
19:11
inside joke uh we call it the Smallville knockout right
19:17
you've only got two oh yeah there's one one for you and one for Tom because we
19:23
could only make two oh sorry Laura i'm not going to take yours no no no i won't take it is this so in case I get a
19:30
concussion someone can read this we have an inside joke where every time we see on TV someone gets like barely tapped
19:35
and then they're both conscious for the rest of the scene we call it the Smallville knockout smallville knockout
19:40
lex has been knocked out quite a bit i think Lana has the record right lana has the record most times at Ken Medical
19:46
Center but have you guys ever had an actual concussion on yes me too hockey yeah no I mean on the show uh probably
19:55
no knock out i know you did everybody we got one over here who's got a question
20:00
for Erica who's got a question for Erica [Music]
20:06
sorry this light is so bright school all right hi Erica uh my question for
20:13
you louder my question for Erica is uh Lois Lane is like the heart and soul of the Superman family and she's takes on a
20:21
lot and I'm just curious as an actress what have you learned from Lois Lane that you've taken into your other roles
20:27
or just in the future or just you as a person oh good question that's a great question and I feel stressed oh I love
20:34
Erica and we're closer this is odd let's I'm going to just sit down and pretend we're chatting um what I took from Lois
20:43
was that it's okay to be human and I spoke about it a little bit earlier but the idea
20:49
that you can be okay with yourself you make mistakes and what I loved about her
20:54
is that she went into the same place that Clark was but she had no powers so
21:01
I found her pretty bloody courageous so I try to be a little bit more like her in my real life
21:07
i got one of Let's get a question from back here a lot of people in the back don't get questions this guy who decided
21:15
to sit in the last seat in the stadium what's your name jeppie
21:22
jeppi Florida on a Sunday and I didn't get his autograph but I got it this
21:28
[ __ ] what's your question for Tom Erica and Laura what Marvel character
21:33
could you see you play what Marvel character did you see
21:38
yourself playing all of them i mean we're actors give us a list of some of
21:44
the Marvel characters i don't want to mix them up i I've always loved Catwoman
21:49
that's DC but that's DC and I knew uh What about Harley Quinn there you go i
21:55
can see that that's what I meant uh Frost Emma Frost um
22:07
Um Rose uh it's Oh okay i don't know i
22:12
love DC too much black Widow's Marvel right all right black Widow black Widow sounds
22:19
good black Widow what's the deal with that i would be Peter Quill what do you
22:24
guys think oh I like it i like it we got one over here are you guys good oh way over there oh there he is let's get it
22:31
this is fun huh running around i I just want to ask all kids like this if y'all could go back to the Smallville universe
22:38
and play any other character especially All right Quiet saying Jader or not who would you play so did you hear that guys
22:45
no no if you could play any other character in the Smallville universe male female whatever who would you play
22:52
clark um if it was a female character uh I
22:59
would play female or male lois i play Lionyl Luther cuz then I get to
23:06
smoosh all time all that power i think I'd play Lex cuz
23:12
it's fun to be that yeah Lex is fun to play it's cool it's
23:17
dark you get tired of playing dark though no I don't know it's pretty given that some
23:24
of us are from a certain generation and grew up in the 70s and 80s what part if any did Marco Ker or Christopher Reev or
23:31
Lex Luthther from like the early Superman motion picture have about your characterization of the character before
23:37
you started to play it look I I once did a convention and there was a line of people and this guy waited to say to me
23:45
"Jean Hagman's the best Lex Luthther." And I looked at him and I go "I agree." and he goes
23:53
"Oh and I do he was my favorite i love Gene Happy he was one of the most gifted actors ever um I love Margot Kid i got
24:01
to spend some time with her we gambled together in Illinois once and she was
24:06
marvelous i remember seeing her in um Amityville Horror and I thought she was really sexy i don't know why I told you
24:12
that." And uh you know Christopher Ree uh you know is just an amazing human
24:17
being he's Superman so what did you take from Christopher Ree for Superman pardon what did you take from Christopher Ree
24:23
for Reeves for Superman um he was really funny he like all we did
24:31
was tell jokes to each other the whole time in between takes and uh we just really had a great time and he was
24:37
really going back to kind of what you said earlier he was really enjoying what he was doing there that day and there
24:43
was that there was that light from him in that sense and there's times on set as you know where you can get tired and
24:49
frustrated and stuff and going back to like you said you you have to remember like got to have fun like that's the
24:56
energy that's you guys don't want to see miserable people on TV you know what I mean and you can see it sometimes when
25:02
you have other actors who don't want to be there and it's so much harder to do
25:08
that um James Marser told me once he's like "There's only one way home." I was
25:13
I was frustrated and tired with it he goes "Hey Tom." I'm like "Yeah." He goes "There's only one way home." And I was
25:18
like "Well I do through this scene." And he was so right i was
25:24
because I wasn't engaging in the scene it made it even worse and then we just did the scene so we got we got I got a
25:32
question here all right i have a question for Michael yeah i'm
25:37
back here doing my Forest Cup mama told me
25:44
there was one scene where you were playing the piano is it true that in reality do you know how to play piano i
25:51
am a renowned pianist i just like to say the word pianist i can play a little piano but
25:58
not like that guy so what they did was they had his arms like this playing the
26:04
piano oh yeah sorry is that what a piano no do you want hot pianist do you want to mime
26:10
the piano oh yeah so he's playing the piano he's underneath me so his head's
26:16
on my back he's just doing He's doing this yeah why did I tell you that i should have kept the the Yeah but I It
26:24
wasn't me playing there's a a little fella here with a question hey little fella why Why don't you come over here
26:29
and say something real nice like
26:35
go ahead ask a question don't Don't freeze up on me you got it
26:43
say what you want you got a question you just want to say hi don't you ever dream about being
26:50
Superman do I ever dream about being Superman i dream that I can fly
26:58
don't you like to dream that you could fly yes woo good job we got one back here for
27:06
Laura and Tom all right where's Laura go back there back in the bell we got one right there he's got it hi guys it's uh
27:12
it's it's great seeing all of you and um uh Tom I want to ask you did you have a
27:18
personal trainer for every season of Smallville because as we all know you were in great shape throughout the
27:23
entire series that's past tense thank you and now and
27:29
now um you know I the answer is no i didn't
27:34
have time um what I would do is I I ended up um working out with the step
27:40
guys a lot on the weekends or maybe if I had an afternoon where I wasn't working i would they there's places that day
27:46
train and it's like kickboxing and like gymnastics and things like and that was always fun to do but I really didn't
27:52
have time for a trainer and I was just young enough to get away with it i just kept doing as many push-ups as I could
28:00
until we started filming so they'd say you're going to be uh you're going to be shirt loose next week
28:05
hundreds of push-ups until we shot just so you know and then they cut it cuz it
28:10
wasn't sexy enough we also have one for Laura too here hi Laura hey uh so it was great hearing
28:17
that you were a fan of the show uh since the beginning and I want to know when
28:22
you first found out that you got the role as Supergirl what did you do to celebrate
28:29
um freaked out i was actually just saying this in the car on the way here to Erica there's
28:36
about three minutes where you celebrate this is for me and then you just [ __ ]
28:42
your pants like did you just say [ __ ] your pants i did i'm sorry you're
28:47
speaking my language but I I I didn't really celebrate because for the screen test I had to fly
28:55
to LA by the next day and I auditioned with three other girls with the producers and then they said "You stay
29:01
here everyone else go home i spent one night in LA and then I got the job and I had to two other girls three yeah and we
29:07
all sat in their room together too like they It was very awkward it was awful uh but I would say there's no celebration i
29:14
celebrate now that the fact that I got to play her but during that time I was
29:21
just terrified we got a question here uh yes Michael oh me you didn't seem
29:26
terrified on set you you played a movie called Dragon Lance uh Dragons Alone Twilight we play tennis uh what made you
29:33
get in that role did you know that you saw that uh it was cool i just I just
29:38
auditioned no they just offered it to me and I went and recorded it i didn't know anything about it and I thought it was
29:44
really cool i didn't know anything about it either but I just was reading reading their book uh reading one of the books
29:50
or whatever and they were talking about it and they said this movie was made in 2008 and it was with uh Eer Lucy Lawless
29:58
lucy Lawless i thought it would be I thought it'd be popular but I thought it'd be better yeah me too me too we
30:04
have a question for Tom all right hey Tom hi oh thanks welcome
30:10
to Earth hey I'm Amy that's awesome it took me two years and it just fell off but
30:16
anyway um on mobile we all saw that you throw
30:21
away the kryptonite right is there any way that it can be clean and then you can pick it up and get a
30:29
uh what's a trip to the Artic remember that I told you actually
30:34
I told um I think I told Laura about that oh if you can take that Crystal
30:40
take it back to the Antarctic and then I have no idea i just don't know i just we
30:46
all pretty much everybody every fan wants to see one thing that we barely
30:52
saw my question is like will you ever do a full Superman
30:58
uh costume every uh Halloween I actually dress up as Superman in Smallville oh no
31:04
not in Smallville no um I don't know i mean no one's ever really approached me from a from a film standpoint so I don't
31:11
know i mean I'd be open to it but uh yeah i I I hear they're not very
31:16
comfortable okay i have a question about you make it erica's got a Okay I have a question for
31:23
Speak loudly i'm I'm basically cherrypicking questions for myself so
31:29
okay so for me you were a badass woman who really stood up for like who you are
31:36
and didn't really give a [ __ ] what anybody else thought so how much of that is your actual personality infused into
31:44
the character she's all I am i feel like my friend
31:50
should answer this question i actually was going to jump in so there was a there was a point in
31:56
Smallville where they're Eric was already there she establishing character and she was doing
32:02
the scenes and I remember one time you came up to me and and you were like I don't know what this is and I was like what are you talking about and the
32:07
dialogue had all these dots and dashes trying to stagger the dialogue and she said "I don't understand why you're
32:12
doing this i can do this on my own." Because that's the way she's playing the character they started to write it that
32:18
way and she had to I don't know if you talked to them or I talked to him but it was like "You don't need to do that erica can do that herself." And so back
32:25
myself into a corner yeah and so that that was something that that's just all her but Erica is such a badass
32:33
she really is and she's the corner right now she's the kindest person you'll ever meet and super talented so all of that
32:41
in that character you see but like she kicked her that's for sure got a
32:47
question over here who's the best yes um did who did you like kissing more chloe
32:56
Lana Lois or Lex lex okay thank you Michael we got one for
33:03
you back here michael wants to know how much you know
33:09
me how much did you enjoy working on the movie Sority Boys i love Sority Boys
33:15
sority Boys was a blast i Did you ever put on your on your uh wardrobe on that that movie let me tell you something
33:22
until you start waxing and shaving and walking down the road with heels on and
33:28
having guys look at you and stare at you these crew guys while I'm in full drag
33:33
they're not that far away but they think I'm a woman they're just like staring at me and I'm like "This is what women feel
33:38
like all the time." And I I was like "Wow this it's hard to be a woman." You
33:44
want a hug we We've got a question i really I have a brand new respect for women after I
33:50
did that movie i truly did i truly did okay hold on we have a question that's a good takeaway hi it's really great uh
33:56
seeing all of you guys um my main question is out of all of the villains
34:02
in Smallville Sans Lex you can't choose him who is your favorite villain to
34:07
fight doomsday Brainiac
34:15
i kind of like Bug Boy i got a question for all you guys back
34:20
here way to be back here first of all I want to say thank you for bringing Smallville to us because it's made the
34:27
landscape what it is today so thank you for being first thank you for watching and supporting us thank you we wouldn't
34:33
be here without you you don't realize that without you guys we're nothing period everything we do if you don't
34:39
support us we don't have support it doesn't become a success it doesn't work so it's people like you that fans and
34:45
friends that just make dreams come true so you made a lot of dreams come true so thank you so my question is for all of
34:52
you although we've been talking about all this great stuff in the past I'd love to hear if anybody has any upcoming
34:58
things that you're doing bad luck to talk about things i'm just
35:05
I'm pitching two shows right now pitching two shows I just pitched to Netflix uh and trying to get them made
35:10
and I have two horror movies I'm trying to get made and doing the podcasts and just uh trying to enjoy life a little
35:17
bit um I'm supposed to do something in September we'll see if it actually comes together it's supposed to but um I'll
35:24
eventually be able to talk about it more but uh I'm looking forward to it nice
35:29
how about you guys laura and I are going to do a movie next year together what really for fun or we're the end of the
35:36
world and we get to fight each other and are you guys directing it no it would be lovely to do that but yeah so we're
35:42
going to go do that next year i have a Christmas movie coming out this year if you like Christmas movies what's
35:47
it called i don't know if they're going to change i hope they changed the title what's it called christmas Now melt my
35:54
heart This Christmas a Who's going to go see that
35:59
i love that we uh How did you not raise your hand in that moment we have a question out here for all of
36:06
you guys were y'all expecting louder were y'all like the reaction from the fans after
36:14
the first season it was different for us because we didn't have social media to sort of see
36:20
what was happening like all these other shows i always said that if Smallville came out when social media was kicking
36:26
we'd all have millions of followers um but you know it was just a different
36:31
time so we didn't have that instant gratification or that that moment where we could see we didn't know we were
36:36
famous we didn't know the show was how good the show was we didn't really know until you went out in public and you
36:43
started people came up to you or you went to a convention you're like "Oh my gosh." I remember my grandfather the
36:49
first I first time I came to a con I brought him and there was tons of people in line and he goes "Why why are all
36:56
these people in line?" Well I guess they're here to see me Earth and he's like "Why would they do
37:02
that that's that's extraordinary." you know so it was just you know those little things but I think we were lucky
37:09
that social media wasn't out i think it made us a little more it was healthier
37:14
for sure tom I have a question for you because you're actually in one of my favorite films Draft Day yeah it is an
37:22
absolutely incredible movie kevin Coer and Chad with Boseman can you talk about your experience working on that film i
37:29
mean I I love that movie they they you know they play it during when the draft comes on every year and I end up
37:36
watching it because I I never remember how exactly he pulls it off all the trades and I so I end up watching it but
37:42
I remembered wanting to do it because I wanted to meet and work with Kevin Cosner and he uh we did this scene where
37:47
my character is kind of yelling at him and I remember uh the first take I'm
37:54
yelling at him i'm yelling at him and then I blanked on my line i just and mid yelled and the director was like "Cut."
38:00
And I and I turned around and I was like kind of yelling at myself like "God damn." And he came over to me put his
38:07
hand on his shoulder hey hey it's okay it's okay no it's not okay like I was like "It's not okay." And in my mind I'm
38:13
like "I just messed up i'm talking to Kevin." He goes "Just do me a favor when I forget my line don't hold it against
38:18
me." And it took all the pressure away and then we just went in another take everything that was such a pro move yeah
38:27
cuz it wasn't like I didn't know it i just got lost in the moment and uh there just I love meeting and working with
38:34
actors where you can learn those things and it's a lot of it's a reminder of things that you may have that you may
38:40
know but you're not aware of um and the other stories I like are about all the actors who were jerks and a-holes on set
38:47
i love those stories because a lot of times those actors aren't around anymore because they weren't nice i always asked
38:54
that in the podcast so you ever work with [ __ ] and sometimes people tell me stories I love how do you deal with
38:59
it what do you you say something to them or you're incredible we got a question over here how long is this uh panel we
39:06
have 5 minutes left all right thank you all right this is for everybody did you take anything from set after the show or
39:13
a costume or a prop or anything memories
39:19
are you kidding me i took everything z's jacket
39:25
ship keys Lexus glasses Lex's water bottles Clark shirt the white suit his
39:32
shirt jumpsuits uh pieces of art
39:37
uh like almost all my wardrobe [ __ ] hell yes take it man it was great take it
39:43
i've got it in my closet it all i actually I met someone who informed me that uh I guess it was like two years
39:49
after Smuggle ended because they keep a lot of the the wardrobe and the props and stuff right in case we got to use
39:56
them again and they sold everything for $45,000 to this guy who now owns it and
40:03
sells these things online at cons and has made a big profit on that but um a
40:08
lot of times you can't just steal things unless you're Michael you especially can't ask if you're gonna take it you
40:15
have to take it you can't ask for it i love free [ __ ] who does Who loves free [ __ ] yeah man i'm a kid in a candy store
40:22
i'm like you don't want that all right I'll take it we have a last question
40:27
over here what did it feel like whenever you were wearing the suit at the end of the show
40:35
i'm assuming that's for you Tom me well I'll tell you um it wasn't the full suit um we were very we had a whole two-hour
40:43
meeting about that one shot um it was very specific and the the wardrobe uh
40:48
the head of wardrobe who was in the meeting at the end said "So let me get this straight you're not going to see the whole suit right?" They're like "No
40:54
we're only going to see this part." And she goes "Okay." And so what happened is they only made that part they didn't
41:00
spend the money to make a whole suit that they weren't going to see on camera so really it was more or less a t-shirt that I was wearing um and so it was
41:07
quite comfortable it was cool it was a cool scene well look if you love this
41:12
you got to check out Smallville Nights cuz this is just a piece of what that's like uh please check out Smallville
41:17
Nights when it comes to your town again guys this has been an honor this is Full Circle hey give it up thanks for making
