if anybody exudes Jedi energy it is her
0:06
Oh thank you so much Thank you for being here How exciting is this Who's been to
0:13
Man Expo Dallas before Some veterans Who's Whose first
0:19
time is it Welcome Welcome Oh this is so exciting
0:25
So exciting Okay so I have a question As you walked in you were supposed to get a
0:30
poster Did everybody get a poster Did everybody get a poster Is anybody
0:35
missing a poster Okay Well so they've been passing them out Um that's my brother-in-law Jeremy
0:42
right there If you didn't get a poster make
0:48
sure to get one uh on your way out or you can go up and get it now Do we have any extras I I was hoping we had a
0:55
couple extra Um maybe maybe we have an extra
1:21
I have a question for Ashley Only one question per person sir But
1:27
okay Okay I actually have a really funny story about this So years ago uh on my
1:33
birthday I did an interview with Rebel Force Radio And um yeah shout out to
1:38
Rebel Force Radio And uh all of a sudden they have a they said "We have a caller." And um it was Ben from
1:46
California And what did Ben from California sound like James Um yes Hello
1:52
Is this actually a thing I'm just wondering what kind of
1:58
food you eat when you're recording a satano Is there a specific meal that
2:03
you'd like to have or partake in And she was so sweet She's like I don't want to offend this guy or anything And she was
2:10
so nice to me Well you know I don't know if we really eat cuz it's not important to eat Well I was just wondering if
2:16
there was a particular food that you really enjoyed while you were doing your voice over She was so nice And then I
2:23
know but I did not know it was James for literally like the longest time They had
2:28
to kind of like explain and afterwards I went like "Hello there." Oh Oh that's what it was I said "I do a I do an
2:33
impression of James Arnold Taylor's version of Obi Kenobi which is a version of Gregory doing Alician
2:42
Kenobi." And she said "Yeah I'd like to hear." And I went "Hello then This is Obi Kenobi
2:53
That's fantastic I love a good prank Were you guys pranking on set or when you guys were voicing and doing stuff
3:00
Not necessarily pranking but how it would always go is I was usually standing in between James and D Bradley
3:08
Baker and it was me in the middle and they were constantly just trying to
3:14
crack me up and uh you know Dave would always you know he would always tell me
3:19
I was uh too cute I was bringing too much cuteness into the studio because
3:24
he's like "Ahsoka doesn't laugh and she doesn't giggle." And I was always trying to get him to allow me to to laugh more
3:32
as Ahsoka And um he's like "No no no You have to ball up your cuteness and throw
3:37
it out of the studio." So James and D would always make it their mission to
3:42
make me laugh Constant We did these dudes They were kind like some Butad
3:49
That's so cool She like took the lights over and did stuff That was awesome
3:56
So that's what it was really like It was the mission to make me laugh Yeah Oh that's great I I mean laughing is the
4:03
best medicine I think in life You know what We we did a panel last night Mental Health Monday live Was anyone I know
4:09
there was a couple people there Yes Yes Yeah Uh and you know we talked about how
4:14
coming to fan expo coming to conventions connecting in person laughing literally
4:22
laughing is good for your mental health It's medicine for your mind you know
4:28
smiling you know making friends connecting in person Um so you know
4:33
literally by you making a choice to be here today that was a choice for your
4:39
mental health And um Yeah it's laughing is just such a huge part of it So um and
4:45
thank you for being a part of our panel last night too No I loved being there and ending on such a mindful note last
4:53
night To be able to come here this morning having all of those tools from
4:58
last night and being able to apply them today in my everyday life I it was very
5:04
enlightening You guys only do this on Instagram live Yes So um back in
5:11
2018 I uh went through an incident online where I was really viciously
5:17
cyberbullied Uh and it was it was horrible I mean I I I will I'm not going
5:23
to beat around the bush at all It was horrible And it went on for about a week
5:31
And you know it was like literally like Taylor Swift where it's like snake snake snake snake And every horrible thing
5:37
that could ever be said about a person was sent my way Isn't that crazy It was
5:43
horrible And it was all over a lie And I had proof that it was a lie I had proof
5:49
that it wasn't true But it didn't matter because somebody had already made the
5:55
accusation and the internet was the jury and they believed it And it didn't matter what I said It didn't matter if I
6:02
tried to defend myself And um Um I was a mess and it really really messed with my
6:09
mind and um I was actually on a book tour at the time and I went to
6:14
Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus Ohio and at the time they were just starting the Kids Mental Health
6:21
Foundation and um I was there to help the patients Uh and I didn't really
6:27
understand anything about mental health at the time I thought that mental health
6:33
was something that affected some people but it didn't affect me Like depression
6:38
or a specific bipolar Yes there's there's a difference between mental illness and mental health And you know
6:45
let's take our physical health for example If someone has diabetes you know
6:52
you're going to talk about it and you're also going to be like okay well that person has diabetes I don't Um but I
7:00
thought that that's what mental health was I didn't realize that mental health
7:05
affects everyone Our mental health is like okay good comparison to physical
7:12
health Everyone gets a cold right Who's had a cold in this room Everyone gets a
7:17
cold Well it's the same with our mental health Our brains can get sick Our
7:24
brains can have a bad day And guess what When I was in the middle of being cyberbullied my brain was having a
7:31
really bad day My brain got sick and I needed help Which also can make your
7:37
physical body like actually sick because if you have something going on in your brain it does affect you all the way
7:43
around Our physical health and our mental health are tied together And I
7:48
didn't understand any of that And luckily um the kids mental health
7:54
foundation even though I was an adult but they they wrapped their arms around me and they said we're going to help you
8:00
and they taught me so much about mental health and um that it affects all of us
8:06
that it's a part of our daily lives that we have to focus on our mental health and I in many ways felt like my voice
8:13
was taken away because I couldn't defend myself I couldn't stand up for myself I I felt helpless and I thought you know
8:20
what I'm an adult going through this and I had a lot of support I can't imagine
8:26
what it's like to be a kid going through this or much less an adult going through this without any support And so I said
8:33
you know what I'm going to get my voice back by being a voice for others And so in 2018 I started posting every single
8:41
Monday and I call it Mental Health Monday And I've done it every Monday ever since And so thanks to Van Expo
8:47
last night for the first time we took Mental Health Monday live to the stage and we did it in person Yeah And so
8:55
thank you all for
9:00
coming It's so I as well have dealt with a lot of those things and and I do this
9:07
thing called neuro feedback I don't know if you ever heard of neuro feedback anybody But it's the way that the the
9:12
folks at the neural feedback place I went to said you know if you have a broken arm we see it We can see it in an
9:18
X-ray We put a cast on it If you have something you know broken up here it's very hard to do that But they have the
9:24
ability now through these scans and such And we would do that And we looked at my brain and looked at all the places where
9:30
those neurotransmitters just weren't doing what they should have anymore due to concussions and trauma that I had had
9:35
in my early life and such And so they're able to repair it but it's all of this
9:41
And it's so amazing what you've been able to do because I also love that now we can go to a Comic-Con as you're
9:47
talking about but we can talk about it at ComicCon because that is the most
9:52
important It's like retraining your brain because if you're scared of something you will continue to be scared
10:00
of it if you never actually face your fear And if you face your fear you're
10:05
now creating a new neuron connection in your brain to help you for the next time
10:12
And if you can continue building upon that make it stronger the force will
10:17
grow inside of you Absolutely Absolutely Well I'm going to do one more plug
10:22
because um I I'm wearing them here I love when uh you all give me friendship
10:28
bracelets I'm wearing the one you gave me Uh and I always felt bad I'm like I don't have any to give in return But
10:35
also a lot of people always ask hey how can I support what you're doing How can I support the Kids Mental Health
10:41
Foundation So um the Kids Mental Health Foundation they were so kind They uh
10:46
made me some bracelet sets So I'm selling for $20 um a bracelet set It's
10:52
three bracelets One says "Hype friend," which is what I use a lot because
10:57
friendship is so good for your mental health Um one says be kind Um be kind to
11:03
others It also stands for Ahsoka because Ahsoka's true power is her kindness It's
11:09
also a reminder to be kind to yourself Oh that's great Because we are often our
11:15
worst bully So really for me it's also a reminder to be kind to me to be kind to
11:22
my own mind Um and finally there's one that says mental health Monday Uh so not
11:27
only is it stands for mental health Monday but also it's a reminder of you know the reason I'm other than the fact
11:34
that it rhymes but um I like saying mental health Monday because it it gets your week off right It's a reminder to
11:42
be kind to your mind throughout the week and to focus on your mind throughout the week So um it's $20 and uh all proceeds
11:50
go to the Kids Mental Health Foundation So every single dollar goes to the Kids Mental Health Foundation
11:58
And thank you And you can come up to my table and buy it And you don't have to get an autograph Um you also if you just
12:05
want the bracelets come up you know buy a bracelet pack Be be respectful of everyone else in line but just come up
12:11
to my sister or my brother-in-law and say "Hey I'm just here for some bracelets Um you don't have to wait you know the long line just for the
12:17
bracelets I'm going to get one for Anakin I think Anakin needs
12:23
to get the bracelets Well speaking of mannequin let's do Star
12:28
Wars Yeah I would I was going to ask what would Obi-Wan and Ahsoka if you
12:35
were having a bad day and I came to Ahsoka and asked her to help me what's
12:40
one piece of advice to help you get through that feeling of disappointment
12:45
or failure What's something that Obi-Wan would do to change his So you're saying
12:52
"Help me Obi-Wan My only hope is
12:59
um well trust in the force and in time a new hope will arise
13:05
Yes I think that Obi-Wan the coolest thing about Obi-Wan Kenobi is much like Ahsoka Now Ahsoka I've always been very
13:12
clear and this is Ashley's panel so we're going to talk about Ahsoka but Ahsoka has always been my favorite character I know you said that from the
13:18
very beginning the very beginning and oh I get emotional thinking about it because she's she's all us right Ahsoka
13:25
is all us She's the one that got introduced to experience Star Wars in a way that all of us do because these
13:31
other characters are almost larger than life and they were already kind of set up there And then this wonderful
13:37
character comes in and goes "Hey I'm a regular person I'm trying I just want to do the right thing." And Obi-Wan you
13:43
know and of course we we thought you were going to be my paddle I know didn't work out that way I was a little sassy
13:49
that day I was a little cocky about it too And then Anakin's like "Well you know but I I think that Obi-Wan is a true
13:56
believer right That's the best thing about him He holds on to the Force no matter what He holds on to the Jedi code
14:02
no matter what." And so he would say "Trust in the Force and and and know that that hope is with you and in you
14:09
and getting you through." So again I I hope that goes in line with everything here Yeah Well in Ahsoka even though she
14:18
famously says "I'm no Jedi," uh in many ways I think she's more of a
14:25
Jedi than than all of them because she really lives the Jedi way It's one thing
14:33
you know to talk about it but it's another thing to live it And Ahsoka
14:38
truly lives it And that's why she walked away because she felt that everything that she believed in she questioned and
14:45
wasn't true But even though she walked away it doesn't mean that she changed And you know Dave Paloney always would
14:52
tell us the studio studio he would say um the Jedi way is to be selfless And
15:00
you know so I want to share the posters real quick Um which shout out to Danny
15:06
Hos This is a Danny Hos original poster that he did just for me to give as a
15:11
gift to you as a thank you So thank you for all of your support Um and shout out to Danny But there's such a special
15:19
connection between the daughter and Ahsoka We don't fully understand what it is yet Um but the daughter from Mortise
15:26
gave up her life for Ahsoka So Ahsoka actually died Um but uh here I
15:34
will grab it So Um I purposefully chose the quote to do what is selfless and
15:42
that in so many ways represents Ahsoka Um as I already mentioned Ahsoka uh her
15:48
true power is her kindness But um when it comes to helping others um that's actually my favorite Ahsoka quote She
15:56
says "In my life when you find people who need your help you help them no
16:01
matter what." I guess it's just who I am Um but it's it's truly who we all are I
16:07
think if you you know who you are as well Yes I was say you embody that so
16:13
much You radiate kindness It's absolutely amazing Thank you But it's
16:18
because Ahsoka has changed my life and I think we're all here because in in many
16:23
ways she's touched all of our lives and that is why I say Ahsoka lives in all of us And you know I think after how many
16:30
years have we been doing this since 2006 Yeah Almost 20 years Yeah Almost 20
16:37
years These characters have taken up a space in our heart and in our mind and
16:42
they guide us They guide our thoughts and they inspire us daily And so Ahsoka
16:48
if she were to see someone in need she would help them no matter what I love that Not so much
16:57
I still feel like there's a glimmer of goodness inside his heart Maybe a touch
17:02
Maybe a ticking Can we see that eventually I I'm enjoying the jaw sitting right here looking at the poster
17:08
like you started I got the jaw Awesome
17:14
Um I'll get a couple questions in before I go to some presubmitted fan questions
17:20
Um I you were wearing an amazing hoodie like a crew neck hoodie yesterday that
17:26
said Star Wars on it and I wanted to know if that was a her universe piece
17:31
because I absolutely love the clothing line that you have come out with and not just her universe but now our universe
17:39
Where do you get all this inspiration for your clothes clothing line
17:45
[Applause] James he's he's my fashion muse Um do
17:51
you remember though years and years and years ago back in like 2007 or something
17:56
at Comic-Con in San Diego you had a you had a um a show and I was one of your
18:03
models I was a Han Solo show Yes you were a runway model a super model My
18:11
Star Wars family has been supporting me from the beginning But um but yes so Her Universe is for those that don't know is
18:17
the company that I started It's a fandom fashion clothing line that started just for girls Um because back in the day
18:24
they said girls would not buy Star Wars clothes made for them And I said that's
18:29
not true Because yes there's a lot of girls out there and we like Star Wars and we
18:35
love clothes And so uh Back in 2010 I launched Star
18:42
Wars or I launched her universe I did not launch Star
18:47
Wars I'm not taking credit for that Heart of Star Wars Yes But I launched
18:52
her universe and uh it's it's grown so much and now we have a subbrand called
18:57
our universe Um because Star Wars is for everyone It's not just for men and boys It's not just for women and girls Um it
19:04
is for all of us And so um I'm so proud her universe actually has a spot on the
19:10
floor If you find my autograph table and and your face knit you look to wait no face my I get my left and rights mixed
19:17
up but anyways you look to the side and there is the Her Universe booth and you can buy um some of our recent designs
19:23
and I have an amazing team that that you know we we work together so I can't take credit for all the designs but what I
19:30
was wearing yesterday what I'm wearing today I did get to design a collection for Disney So right now in the Disney
19:36
parks and on disneystore.com you can get this very 90s looking 80s9s
19:43
uh Star Wars collection So um so yeah I think it's still available on disneystore.com if
19:49
you're not going to a Disney park or uh you can go to a Disney park and check it out Yeah check it out You know what's
19:54
weird though Ashley There are people that have grown up in a world that wouldn't know anything different than
20:00
there being Star Wars clothes for everybody now because of what you did
20:05
And I know you're you're very humble She's like but it it's true Like there's young people here that like of course
20:12
Star Wars clothes for everybody Mhm That wasn't the case But she's also branched out I she had a Bridgetgerton collection
20:19
She's had so many different um fandoms that she's now included into this brand
20:25
which I think is amazing because if you look out here you see the Sanderson sisters you see Gomez and Morticia I
20:32
It's such an eclectic group of people and I think that that's what her universe has now become It's for
20:38
everyone Well so that was my goal uh in the beginning Now for those that don't
20:44
know the backstory I I was a full-time actress Um I I'm a huge proponent for
20:50
education so I'm going to preface this before I say this but um I graduated from high school I briefly went to
20:56
college and then I left college so I don't even have a college degree I moved to LA for acting and did acting
21:01
full-time Um so I say this because I don't have uh I I don't have any sort of
21:08
degree in business I don't know licensing I don't know fashion design I had no business starting a company Um
21:16
and you were a young Padawan when you started and then you became a Jedi Yes
21:21
Um but I saw a need and I saw women and girls being bullied and being bullied
21:28
terribly for just being a Star Wars fan I was one of those people And we know if
21:36
you're here if you're a fan we know that Star Wars is for everyone To me Star
21:43
Wars is a story of hope Star Wars is a story of good overcoming evil And you can't put a gender on that And so to
21:51
Thank you No labels And so I wanted to create her universe not just to have
21:58
cute clothes even though that was a bonus I wanted to break the stigma that
22:04
Star Wars was just for men and boys because it wasn't And um and I think we've done that today And and that's all
22:12
I ever wanted I just wanted a safe space where all of us could come together and celebrate what we love Love it
22:23
Now these questions are obviously generated for Ahsoka but Obi-Wan can answer them as well
22:30
I'm sure Obi-Wan has some words of mouth that will apply
22:35
Chris from Dallas wants to know "When you first auditioned for Ahsoka what were your first impressions of the
22:41
character And did you have any idea she would become such an icon?" Let me get this one
22:49
You probably could answer this for me by this point Um so here's here's the deal And James you can actually speak to this
22:55
as well So you have a really interesting story of how you became Obi-Wan Um but
23:01
someone but as as as many of you might have
23:07
heard already Star Wars is very secretive And um when I auditioned we
23:13
both auditioned for Star Wars and Clone Wars We knew it was a new animated show
23:19
for Star Wars That's all we knew Uh and so I actually went in to audition for
23:25
Padme because Ahsoka was so top secret they didn't tell anyone about her Uh so
23:31
nobody knew that Ahsoka existed And so I went in for Padme I could not do Padme's
23:38
voice I tried and tried and tried I could not do this little little taste
23:44
And and that's literally what my P sounds like
23:50
It was so bad I It was so bad I I almost
23:55
left the audition I didn't even audition Um because uh I shared this with some of you I auditioned for voiceover roles for
24:02
about four years which was about 400 auditions that I did not get I was rejected so many times Um so I was
24:10
really down on myself and um I almost walked out of the audition and my agent
24:16
begged me not to leave He said "Whatever you do do not leave because you never know what could happen." And so I turned
24:22
around and went back in and um went in auditioned for Padme Sure enough the first line out of my mouth Dave Filona
24:29
stopped me and he was like "No no no no no I don't know That's my
24:36
And he basically said "You're not right for Padme but you might be right for this other character and she's a
24:42
14year-old girl." And that's all I knew Um but originally he wanted Ahsoka to
24:48
sound Icelandic and um what does that sound like J why don't you do an idea
24:59
No no offense to anybody That's like I don't have no idea Actually that sounds like Yeah that's like
25:10
that sounds like what the chef from the show But your first attempt but your first attempt kind of
25:17
sounded like Yoda doing Icelandic Force is strong with your
25:24
but that sounded better than my Icelandic And um I got so frustrated in
25:30
the audition trying to do Icelandic and I couldn't do it Um Dave Filon was
25:35
watching me and uh he he just liked me as me And so eventually when I got the
25:42
part I was so shocked because I'm like my Icelandic was so bad How did I book this And they said no no no don't deal
25:49
with your Icelandic Just be yourself And they that's how I got Ahsoka is
25:55
literally just being myself and he wanted me to use my own voice Honestly that is how I think people make the best
26:01
connections with others is just being your genuine self which is hard to accept for some people is being open
26:09
enough to be yourself And I think all of you feel that way and that's why you're here You feel this is where you're home
26:15
and you're accepted and you can be yourself at convention Yeah So I want to go back to the word genuine So I did ask
26:22
Dave Filon once I said "Why me Why did you cast me as Ahsoka?" Because I was I
26:29
was genuinely confused I'm like "It's all the top voice actresses auditioned
26:34
for Ahsoka." So I was shocked I'm like "How did I get this part?" And he said
26:40
"Because you're genuine and Ahsoka is genuine." Now I share this because I had
26:46
never thought about the word genuine I mean it's kind of a throwaway word if you think about it Um genuinely you're
26:54
right Yeah Yeah But it's it it genuinely stopped me in
26:59
my tracks and it it forced me to think about well what what does genuine really
27:06
mean How am I genuine And um genuine is real That just sounds weird
27:14
Before you say a word any word you're freaking me out But it it does cause you to think about
27:21
it doesn't it And um you know genuine I feel like we live in a world where we
27:26
often put on so many filters but but Ahsoka has no filters She's just herself
27:34
She's kind She's truthful She's honest She is what she is She is who she is And
27:40
so Ahsoka really inspired me to just
27:46
be genuinely myself and to show my heart and and um to not put on any filters Uh
27:54
so yeah So I missed one spot you I'm sorry but you missed one spot of it
28:00
There was she did something there that when Dave was like saying "Oh do this do
28:05
that whatever." And she you raised your hand Cute little Ashley raised her hand
28:11
and you said what You said "I'm sorry but I'm doing Yes Well I So you stood up
28:18
for yourself is what my point did I thought I was I was doing a good
28:24
Icelandic accent Clearly I genuinely I genuinely thought I was and I wanted the
28:32
part so bad and he stopped me and he said "Nah can you be a bit more
28:39
Icelandic?" And I did something that I would normally never do I raised my hand
28:45
and I spoke back to the director and I said "I'm sorry I am doing Icelandic I
28:52
don't know what you want." Yes that's
29:00
very truly what happened That's so Ahsoka But the theme is all these
29:06
stories you've told they are all but then you stood up and went "I'm sorry I'm going to defend the defendless I'm
29:13
sorry I'm gonna say yes to this I'm sorry I'm going to make this here because it isn't there And if you don't
29:19
like it well I'm gonna kind of do it anyways But it but in a sweet way And
29:24
look what's happened You've affected the world in a beautiful way Actually
29:34
you're just gassing her up now Which kind of leads me to this next question Sandy from Dallas asks
29:40
"Assoka's journey has inspired so many fans over the years How has playing her impacted your own personal growth?" Oh
29:48
my gosh Well I already said it but Ahsoka has changed my life You know I
29:56
was cast to to be myself or bring myself to
30:01
Ahsoka So in the beginning Ahsoka is is is me I mean she she genuinely is It's
30:09
it's my voice It's my heart She's my humor Um but over time as we got to know
30:17
Ahsoka I was like "No I want to be like Ahsoka I want to you know she took up
30:25
space in my heart and in my mind And I would make decisions where I would ask
30:30
myself what would Ahsoka do How would she handle this situation what would Ahsoka say And so she's absolutely
30:39
changed my life She's guided my thoughts and decisions and choices and um I'm my
30:46
life is better because of Ahsoka and ours too Yes Thank you Thank you I want
30:52
to know because James is the same way James is you know truly the the the good
30:59
Jedi you know a nerd Then well but also he's genuinely Obi-Wan and and and
31:07
everything that we love about the Jedi is who James is as well How has Obi-Wan changed your life God bless you my child
31:14
Yes Um yeah it's true It really is one of those characters where you go like if
31:19
I were to say "What do I want to be?" I would be like Obi-Wan You know I'm a
31:25
Christian and my faith is incredibly important to me And Obi-Wan is a Jedi and his faith is very important to him
31:31
and he you know will hold that line no matter what even if it means cutting the
31:36
limbs off his friend and leaving him in the lava But I don't think I've done that to Matt but Matt So Matt Lancer by
31:43
the way one of the hunkiest loveliest human beings on the planet who we just love dearly is um right here No he's not
31:53
He's uh I have a quick question Yeah Between you and Matt who would win in the game The Floor is Lava
32:02
How do you How do you play that You don't know the floor is lava You never played that as a child I'm sorry
32:07
Everyone spent a lot of time with the temple I know what is the floor is lava Well you just can't It's protecting the
32:14
floor Pretend it's not real There's no real lava I generally have the high ground so I don't know
32:23
I just clean the lava Oh you you answered the question All
32:28
right Yeah Sorry No no So Matt Lancers by the way he's like "Oh I live in this
32:34
great neighborhood You should come move there." So I moved to the neighborhood He didn't tell me He lives up on the hill So his house is up on this big hill
32:41
and mine's down here I go "You did that on purpose right?" I have the high ground I'm like
32:46
[Applause] "Matt but no." Yes Thank you Uh Obi-Wan
32:52
is one of those characters So I I've been actually doing them since uh 2003 for the micro series the Clone Wars You
32:58
all know that And it was an audition They were still making the movies Revenge of the Sin
33:04
hadn't been made yet Attack of the Clones had come out And so they sent me some dialogue of of Obi-Wan And uh I
33:11
listened you know I have a bad feeling about this mask I have a bad feeling about this master It's not about the
33:16
mission It's not about the mission I just repeated what I heard And I had done some of you McGregor's uh doubling for other things before like pul but he
33:23
was doing an American accent and I thought when he does an American accent it's pretty much right here and I
33:29
thought well my voice is kind of right there so what if I give myself a British accent oh my goodness I will be one
33:37
Kenobi yeah but uh and then he had those wonderful textures to it right so his come to your senses what would do if she
33:45
was in your position you know was that I thought he's got this growl that we never heard Guinness do And so and this
33:51
was before you were the chosen one That wasn't out yet And so we were making Battlefront 2 and
33:57
then the video game The first Battlefront 2 The
34:03
first games and they brought me Dave Collins You know Dave Collins He's an amazing uh composer musician Star Wars
34:10
director and voice actor And he brings in this this briefcase with this laptop
34:15
and it's like chained to him And it's these scenes of the young Gregor on a blue screen and he goes "You were the
34:22
chosen one It was said you would destroy the Sith not join them bring balance to
34:27
the force not leave it in darkness You were my brother Anakin I loved you." And
34:34
I went "Do that." And I went "Okay
34:47
They kind of went "Yeah you're the guy We'll keep you up for a while." And so it's been 23 years as an Obi-Wan Kenobi And I'm blessed beyond belief because I
34:54
get to work with people like Ashley and Matt and uh talent people in the world
34:59
And you guys have such great chemistry together And I've built like pretty much a family Star Wars has made you a little
35:05
like chosen family Can I do just a couple rapid fire before I let you guys go as you can answer these two because
35:12
they are just general questions General questions
35:18
Who would be on your Mount Rushmore Oh nobody's ever asking that
35:25
Well we both would say Master Yoda That's right Master Yoda for sure
35:32
Um I mean I feel like it would have to be Anakin Ahsoka and Obi-Wan
35:40
What a great group I don't know Qual I like Quigon In fact not Darth Maul
35:50
What's the last song you listen to
35:57
Uh you know what The Middle by Jimmy Eorld
36:02
That is if y'all haven't listened to it listen to it at some point today Um that is my hype up song Really Yes And like
36:10
so this morning when I was a little tired I needed to just hype up Uh I I
36:16
played it and just danced around in my hotel room by myself That's great Does anyone else do that Yes Yes I walk
36:25
around with headphones in my ears as it's my theme music everywhere I go Yeah What about you James Well I just I
36:31
checked my phone like I don't know So um a friend of mine is a Christian music artist named Jason Gray Really talented
36:38
wonderful man and a good friend of mine And I was listening to his album and he has a song called When I Say Yes And
36:45
it's a great it's very kind of gospel He's got this gospel choir singing in the back and it's like when I say yes
36:50
Yes Next song So I was kind of doing it but I was on the plane so it was a yes Yes Like what is wrong We're looking at
36:57
you like why is that guy yelling back there What's your favorite room in your
37:03
home to escape to Well okay You got a cool home Yes So I
37:12
am obsessed with Disney Um I'm a big Disney fan Yes I'm over there all the time Yes So I grew up there My dad was a
37:19
cast member So my whole house is pretty much decorated Disney If you go to YouTube and just type in Ashley Xin
37:26
Wonderland you will see my house Uh it's a little over the top Um but I love
37:33
Alice and Wonderland And so I have a couple of rooms that are decorated Alice and Wonderland Um and one Cinderella So
37:40
it all makes me happy I have Alice right here No And the caterpillar over there Who's your
37:48
favorite out of Alice and Wonderland Is it Alice or Cel Yeah Yeah What about you James Well for the house of mine I like
37:54
the Mad Hatter because I was Johnny [Applause]
38:00
De Yes Um but no uh for me it's my studio my recording studio Anybody uh
38:05
watch my vlogs or any videos my YouTube channel Subscribe please Thank you Thank you Thank you Shameless plug Uh and so
38:12
my studio is kind of the ultimate uh space there for me to perform and do my
38:18
stuff and and I love it It's got all the memorabilia from all of our years of hosting Star Wars weekends together and
38:23
the Star Wars celebration and stuff and so like your happy place Yeah Yeah So I go in there and I vlog and I do my
38:29
podcast and then I put it out to all of you to try to inspire you So yeah Awesome Last question We talk about what
38:35
you're great at You guys are fantastic but what do you suck at What are you terrible at
38:43
So many things So many things Um
38:48
Technology is not my friend I mean it's just not uh like give me a brand new
38:56
remote control and I will mess it up I will push every wrong button I will get to like input 4 and not know how to get
39:04
back I I picture David doing that to you like one day just like putting a new remote in the room and then leaving and
39:10
watching it I'm a bar just to see what happens It's the biggest prank So yeah
39:15
te technology to me it is not my friend James um gosh it's so hard I'm I'm so
39:22
terrible at everything Uh you thought I was going to say I'm wonderful at everything See come
39:27
on Uh no I'm terrible at sports My brother growing up was like allstar
39:33
football players He's like you know 6'3 and I'm you know 5'4 I'm like "Hi I do voices." Uh and my sister's like 5'10
39:41
and beautiful and and they were both really good at all that stuff and I was I was the nerd that did uh just voices
39:47
and stuff So yeah uh I didn't do it You want me to do any other quick voices So on Johnny test which is totally awesome
39:54
hiccup sometimes for how to train your dragon and sometimes fish legs and you know the other fish legs is right
39:59
actually right next to Ashley Einstein Chris from men's class and you should go see him today That's really cool and
40:04
Dallas here Chris Milwaukee Chris Walker to come in with some
40:09
[Applause]
40:15
cowboy document Michael G Fox is here right is here as
40:24
well who is Biff and you have to go see Tom and we just saw him So there you go
40:30
I had to give you some voices cuz that's
40:35
James showing off his gift I think is is is truly the best way to end this Um but
40:41
also piggybacking on your last question And if I can leave everyone with this I genuinely believe genuine genuine
40:49
Um everyone was born with their own unique gift I mean the what James can do with
40:58
voices is it's it's just it's his gift And I feel like we spend so much time
41:06
trying to be like everyone else You know you see what someone else is doing and you're like "Well I want to be more like
41:12
that person." Instead of really focusing and saying "What's my gift What was I
41:18
born with What can I do that's better than anyone else?" Because I promise you
41:24
this each person in this room you have a gift that you can do better than
41:30
everyone else So thank you And I I
41:36
I hope that that we can all and I don't don't say you can all we can all because
41:42
I have to remind myself all the time because we live in a world of social media We live in a world where we can
41:47
constantly see what everyone else is doing at all times and how everyone else is being awesome And so you know
41:54
sometimes it can feel really depressing and say "Well man they're really awesome
41:59
and and I don't feel awesome today." Well next time we feel that way what
42:05
would Ahsoka do Yes Ask yourself but but ask yourself what am I awesome at
42:13
Because I promise you you are awesome something and you're way more awesome at that one thing than I could ever be And
42:19
ask a friend what they think you're awesome at because sometimes we don't see it in ourselves with your friends are like like you just said about me
42:25
which is very nice No you guys are awesome and like we appreciate you being
42:31
here and just spending your morning with us Thank you And you guys can always visit them at the table They'll be at
42:36
their tables today Yeah So I'm over at the Riperverse Y'all know the Ripper verse In fact I got to go to their panel
42:42
next But uh they're at booth 90 down in the other area at Ashley's where all the famous people are So go see Ashley and
42:49
then maybe come over and see the Riververse and buy some comics and come see me And don't forget to get your mental health bracelet over at Ashley's
42:55
booth Just come on out and tell my sister brother-in-law that you want some bracelets or I'll be there signing
43:01
autographs and doing photo ops the rest of the day So starting around noon I'll be there the rest of the day So looking
43:06
forward to seeing
43:17
[Applause]
