Synopsis:

Centered around an historic and slightly shabby Grade 1 listed house in the Northern Ireland countryside, Hopley Hall follows the ensemble of staff and volunteers who keep the house running: a motley group of enthusiasts, innocents, idiots, and sociopaths. For generations the home of the Hopley family, its current sole resident is the ancient, bewildered, and very English Lady Hopley, and the estate’s survival depends on tourism. Not quite as popular as the castle down the road (where they filmed some of the House of the Dragon series, the jammy beggars). Hopley Hall still has plenty to offer, or so they think.

About Hopley Hall

Hopley Hall is a historic Grade 1 listed house located in the Northern Ireland countryside. The show revolves around a diverse group of staff and volunteers who work to maintain the estate. While its charm lies in its slightly shabby state, the setting becomes a backdrop for the interactions among a quirky ensemble of characters. The current resident, Lady Hopley, is an elderly woman navigating life in a house steeped in history. With tourism being critical for the estate’s viability, the team strives to draw visitors, even as they find themselves overshadowed by a nearby castle. Despite facing challenges, the dynamics at Hopley Hall create an intriguing and lighthearted atmosphere.
