Synopsis:
Rita never wanted to be maid of honor, but a promise made in high school has her captaining a 75-foot luxury houseboat for Katie’s bachelorette weekend. Hoping for one last carefree weekend before adulthood sets in, the six young women take to the lake. When an awkward encounter with Rita’s ex-boyfriend ruins their first stop, they venture deeper into unfamiliar waters in search of a more secluded beach. A wrong turn through the narrows brings them to an isolated cove not on their maps. With darkness approaching, they decide to dock anyway. As night falls, unsettling events begin. A ghostly twelve-year-old girl appears, imploring the bachelorettes to play. Initially compliant, the women soon learn that every interaction with the child-ghost-indulging her, confronting her, or simply acknowledging her presence-fuels her violent power. As the deadly games escalate, the houseboat itself becomes her weapon. The tube slide, patio doors, and hot tub are transformed into instruments of bloodshed and death. With the engines disabled, communications cut off, and nowhere to swim or run, Rita must keep herself and the remaining friends alive until sunrise while resisting the ghost’s attempts to draw them into her game.

About Houseboat

Rita finds herself reluctantly in the role of maid of honor, tasked with piloting a houseboat for a friends’ bachelorette weekend. Initially intended as a carefree escape, the trip takes a dark turn following an unexpected meeting with her ex-boyfriend. Seeking a secluded area to regroup, the group stumbles upon an isolated cove that is not marked on their maps. As night descends, unsettling occurrences begin. A ghostly figure of a young girl emerges, drawing the women into playful yet dangerous interactions. These encounters reveal the chilling truth that each response they make amplifies the spirit’s power, leading to a night fraught with peril on the vulnerable houseboat. Rita must fight against both supernatural forces and time to protect her friends until dawn breaks.
