After the death of his beloved mastiff, Arjun, emotionally fragile Carter becomes convinced the dog will return to life on Easter. Refusing to let go, he keeps the body hidden in his closet, clinging to the belief that their bond transcends death. His pragmatic cousin Pete and Pete’s sharp, skeptical girlfriend Dani attempt to intervene, but their well-intentioned plan to secretly dispose of the body only deepens Carter’s delusion. When Carter experiences vivid “visions” of Arjun guiding him, he sets out on a spontaneous road trip to a small town called Galilee, convinced it holds the key to their reunion. As the trio travels together, tensions rise between logic and belief, forcing each of them to confront grief, loyalty, and the stories we tell ourselves to survive loss.

About Lord And Mastiff

In this feature film, Carter struggles with the aftermath of loss, keeping the body of his friend hidden away, convinced that their connection persists beyond death. His cousin Pete and Pete’s girlfriend Dani try to help him by planning to discreetly dispose of the remains, but their actions only reinforce Carter’s disconnected reality. As visions of Arjun lead Carter on an unexpected road trip to Galilee, the journey becomes a test of faith and friendship. As they travel, the characters grapple with their differing perspectives on grief and loyalty, illustrating the complex narratives that shape our understanding of loss.
