Synopsis:
Mascots is a subversive drama-thriller blending dark comedy, action, and a warped coming-of-age tale to explore trauma’s shadow and the thin line between victim and perpetrator. Two adult children, raised in isolation by a disturbed captor (Mickey Rourke’s Jeff), escape into an unfamiliar world. Disguised in homemade Mickey and Tigger suits, they rob an Anaheim store and flee to the 1992 Paw-Con in search of belonging, identity, and freedom. Naïve to abuse, sexuality, money, and mental illness, they confront an existential journey to define themselves.
