Hi, my name is Aaron Campbell. I'm a
0:01
voice actor in some of your favorite
0:02
anime. I voice Jingo Raichi in Blue
0:04
Lock, Mindu in Dragon Ball Da, Charlotte
0:07
Perosparrow in One Piece, Uma Mia in
0:10
Windbreaker, Makakota in Campfire
0:12
Cooking in Another World, and many other
0:14
titles. I am going to answer some
0:16
questions about voice acting. When
0:19
signing autographs, what quote do fans
0:22
ask for the most?
0:24
Uh, typically people don't have a
0:26
particular quote in mind for things. I
0:28
uh I like to write the the quotes that
0:32
give me inspiration or the ones that
0:34
relate to characters the most. My
0:35
favorite one is Perosparrow in One
0:38
Piece.
0:38
Lickickety lick. Uh it just very it sums
0:42
up his character very well and it's it
0:44
hits all the right notes um for that.
0:47
What was your exposure to Dragon Ball
0:49
before I was cast as Majin Du in Dragon
0:52
Ball Da? Uh so I'm an OG Dragon Ball
0:55
fan. I watched all well I didn't see the
0:58
original Dragon Ball. I was introduced
1:00
to Dragon Ball Z when I was younger.
1:02
I've seen all of Dragon Ball Z through
1:04
the Buu saga and none of Super. Um, but
1:10
I do know that this the Dragon Ball Da
1:13
takes place a like a year two years
1:16
after uh the Bu Saga. So I already knew
1:19
everything I needed to know going in
1:21
about power scaling and things like
1:22
that. And so whenever I got cast as
1:25
Majin Du I knew I had big shoes to fill
1:27
because I love Majins and knowing that
1:30
there were more in the world was really
1:33
exciting. Um also the fact that he's got
1:36
my favorite parts what feels like a boo
1:38
the uh the the food he's like all about
1:41
it and uh it gives him energy and food
1:44
gives me energy too. So I relate to
1:46
Majendu on that level. How do you keep
1:48
your voice strong and consistent during
1:50
long recording sessions or intense
1:51
battle scenes? This is a great question.
1:53
Uh, lots of water. You drink lots of
1:55
water. I have like four bottles of
1:57
water. This is the third one I've drank
1:58
today. I always hydrate. Uh, keep your
2:01
voice module lubricated at all times.
2:04
Water is great. Hot tea is great with
2:06
honey. Um, and uh, when I'm about to do
2:09
a long screaming session, you warm up.
2:12
So, I do trills. I do like humming, like
2:15
going from
2:19
that's great. Uh humming is also really
2:22
good for your voice. What you don't want
2:23
to do is go in raw and just start
2:26
screaming immediately because then your
2:28
voice will get tired and give out on
2:30
you. Um so warm-ups also taking a straw,
2:33
breathing in and blowing out to a straw
2:35
is really good. It also helps expand
2:37
your vocal capacity for screams. Um and
2:41
the main thing is just don't do it
2:44
incredibly. Don't don't go in and start
2:47
screaming immediately. You want to like
2:48
give yourself a little bit of time to
2:49
warm up and you do that in the car. You
2:51
got plenty of time on the the car ride,
2:53
the plane ride, wherever you're going to
2:54
do your voiceover work. Is there more
2:56
pressure recording lines and popular
2:58
franchises like My Hero Academia, Attack
3:00
on Titan, and Spy Family? Not for me.
3:03
Um, anime to me is like all the same. I
3:07
mean,
3:08
certain times when there's like a the
3:11
first session for something when I
3:12
particularly when I want a character to
3:14
be like, "Okay, I know this character is
3:16
important. I want it to be good. Uh, if
3:20
I put that pressure on myself,
3:23
it takes away from the performance in
3:25
that I'm thinking more about how I want
3:27
the character to sound than and how I
3:31
want people to perceive it rather than
3:33
what am I actually doing in the scene as
3:36
the character. When I take off all the
3:38
restraint of that pressure of this
3:40
character has to sound this way or this
3:42
character needs to come out a certain
3:44
way, it m gives me more freedom in the
3:46
booth to play and make choices that are
3:49
better for the character than if I were
3:50
to put restraints on myself. So other
3:53
actors will tell you otherwise, but for
3:55
me, the moment I free myself of those
3:57
things, it becomes way easier.
4:01
Do I have a dream project, anime, or
4:04
game I would love to work on? Oh man.
4:07
Uh, this is a good question. Uh, I would
4:11
love Okay. Yes. Now, I know I would love
4:13
to work on Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I
4:16
know part seven is coming out soon. At
4:18
least it's been announced. I would love
4:20
to audition for that. I would love to be
4:21
considered for that show. I'm a big
4:23
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fan. You know,
4:25
uh, it was one of the first anime that I
4:27
was introduced to where I was like,
4:28
"What is going on? I don't know, but I
4:31
love it and I love everything about it."
4:33
Then I got to part three and I was like,
4:35
I'm locked in. Uh, so Jojo's Bizarre
4:37
Adventure part seven, Steel Ball Run is
4:39
something I would love to work on.
