“Schmoolie The Deathwatcher” is a darkly hilarious tale of Schmoolie Lazar, an Orthodox Jewish teen and clumsy misfit, living in the ultra-hip Fairfax District of Los Angeles. One Friday, his humdrum life takes a turn when his mother volunteers him to act as Shomer at a local mortuary, taking the night shift guarding a body awaiting burial. But the dead are not his biggest problem of the night when he encounters two henchmen who have broken in to hide a body of their own. His faith is put to the ultimate test when he unwittingly spoils their perfect crime and entangles himself in a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
