Synopsis

In “Stone Mattress,” viewers are invited aboard a luxurious cruise ship navigating the breathtaking, yet hauntingly vulnerable Arctic Northwest Passage. The film follows Verna, a complex character portrayed by Julianne Moore, who is a 60-year-old retired physiotherapist carrying the weight of her past—twice widowed and longing for solace amidst the opulence surrounding her.

As the ship sails through stunning icy landscapes, Verna forms a seemingly innocent friendship with the charming Grace, played by Sandra Oh. However, the presence of Bob, an unassuming mid-sixties man, begins to threaten the delicate equilibrium Verna has built around herself.
