Synopsis:
Set in the brutal frontier, The Brigands of Rattleborge follows the cunning outlaw Billy Lee and his dim accomplice Rodney, who strike a dangerous bargain with a Native American tribe: they will rescue the chief’s kidnapped daughter, Amagana, in exchange for a supernatural storm capable of devastating the prosperous town of Rattleborge. Secretly driven by greed, Billy Lee murders the tribe’s emissary and continues his scheme unchecked. Meanwhile, Rattleborge appears idyllic under the watch of Sheriff Pickman, a principled lawman devoted to his wife and community. Yet beneath the town’s polished surface simmer corruption, moral hypocrisy, and hidden perversions—embodied by figures like the unsettling stranger Abraham Weiss and the outwardly righteous Deputy Cooperson. As Billy Lee’s violent gang closes in and Weiss’s sinister presence deepens the unease, the town edges toward catastrophe. Loyalties fracture, secrets surface, and brutality erupts. When the promised storm looms, Rattleborge faces not only external destruction but the revelation that its greatest threats have been festering within all along.
