Plot: Rankin, a jewel thief on the lam from a vengeful employer, is drawn into running a dysfunctional rural scout troop. He propels the troop to new heights but in sticking his head above the parapet his past catches up with him. Only now he has much more to save than himself.
Synopsis
In a small, dysfunctional rural town, we follow Rankin, a slick jewel thief whose life takes an unexpected turn. On the run from a ruthless boss with revenge on his mind, Rankin stumbles into the role of leader for a struggling scout troop. Rather than just seeking refuge, he finds himself igniting a spark within the group, driving them to achieve accomplishments they never thought possible.
However, as Rankin rises to the occasion, his past comes barreling back, threatening everything he has grown to care about. What was once just his self-preservation transforms into the stakes of loyalty and commitment to a newfound family. With a unique blend of humor and suspense, “Troops” explores the lengths one will go to protect not just oneself, but the bonds forged along the way.
