Alien: Romulus – a new standalone feature film based on the iconic sci-fi horror franchise, has begun filming! Produced by Scott Free Productions and set to be released on Hulu, the production is set to commence on March 9 and wrap on May 12 in Budapest.

Ridley Scott, who directed the first Alien film in 1979, will serve as a producer alongside Michael Pruss, Elizabeth Cantillon, and Tom Moran. Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues will co-write the script, with Alvarez also directing.

Alvarez and Sayagues are known for their work on the horror-thriller “Don’t Breathe” and the reboot of “Evil Dead.” Brent O’Connor will be the line producer, with Peter Nightingale serving as the production manager, and Galo Olivares as director of photography. Lee Cleary will serve as the first assistant director.
