Synopsis: Set in the sweltering heat of a Texas summer in 1974, a deadly 11-day siege grips the Huntsville Penitentiary after convicted heroin dealer Federico Carrasco’s meticulously planned escape spirals out of control. As Carrasco seizes control of the prison, taking dozens of hostages, Jim Estelle, head of the Texas Department of Corrections, finds himself locked in a tense and dangerous standoff against a man with nothing to lose. Amid the chaos, prison chaplain Father Joseph O’Brien steps into the heart of the crisis, offering himself as a hostage in a desperate gamble to outwit Carrasco and protect the innocent. As pressure mounts, the lines between justice and survival, captor and captive, grow increasingly blurred. In a battle of will, faith, and strategy, Estelle and O’Brien must navigate the darkest corners of human nature to end the standoff before more blood is shed. Based on one of the most harrowing hostage crises in American history.
