About Funny Story

Daphne relocates to her lakeside hometown, eager to start a new chapter of her life. Working as a children’s librarian in Waning Bay, Michigan, she navigates the challenges of limited income and solitude. To cope, she proposes an unusual living arrangement with Miles Nowak, Petra’s ex, who is quite the contrast to her structured life. The two initially keep their distance but eventually bond over shared experiences and heartache. Their friendship grows as they devise a plan to create the illusion of an adventurous summer, sharing staged photos that distract from their realities. The situation becomes more complex as feelings emerge, challenging Daphne’s understanding of love and loyalty.
