Synopsis – ‘Regretting You’
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Atlanta, ‘Regretting You’ is the real-life depiction of mother-daughter wrangling at its rawest. Unfolding within the layers of heart, humor, and generation gap, our main characters – Morgan Grant played by Allison Williams, and her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara, portrayed by McKenna Grace, share a relationship that is as complex as it is relatable.
Directed by Josh Boone and penned by Susan McMartin, the story dives headfirst into the bittersweet conflict of dreams, age, responsibilities and the burdens of making life-altering decisions. Morgan’s fervor to protect her daughter from repeating her mistakes, and Clara’s reluctance to stride the path carved by her mother, infuse the plot with a compelling tension.
The cruelties of fate further intensify the conflict. An unexpected loss sends shockwaves through their lives, shaking the foundation of their already shaky relationship. Yet, in the heart of despair, surprising sources of solace emerge, presenting them both with forbidden opportunities and impossible choices.
As secrets unfurl and resentments fester, a widening trench separates mother and daughter. The journey of bridging this gaping divide – or succumbing to its depths – is what ‘Regretting You’ promises to narrate. So, get ready to be riveted by a stirring exploration of the power of love, the resilience of relationships, and the inexorable threads that bind us to family.
