Synopsis:
In love with distinctly toxic people. Ro and Jax aren’t right for each other, but the women can’t bring themselves to separate. It is a dark kismet that each found the single person on the planet that their brains deemed to be so stubbornly desirable. Their relationship is a see-saw of abuse and manipulation. They have accepted their fate—stoics atop the gallows. But what happens when a drug comes along that offers an end to their addiction to each other? The promise of freedom divides them further. When only Jax decides that it’s time for a change, she becomes untethered to Ro, disgusted by her very existence. But Ro can’t bring herself to fully commit to the therapy. Her lonely, unrequited infatuation will drive her to dangerous, desperate acts. As the effects of the experimental drug intensify, Ro and Jax discover that severing their emotional connections will challenge their relationship with not only humanity, but with reality.
