At the heart of the story is Paul, expertly played by Harvey Guillén, who personifies that one friend whose seemingly innocent invitation for “one drink” spirals into a chaotic celebration. With the clock ticking towards an unforgettable Tuesday night, audiences will relate to the hilarity of drunken escapades and regrettable texts.

As the plot unfolds, we encounter Henry, portrayed by Josh Brener, who has plans of his own—a romantic weekend in Palm Springs with his girlfriend Penny, brought to life by Billie Lourd. Just when Henry thinks he’s finally getting quality time with Penny, Paul swoops in to crash the party. The night takes an unexpected turn when Paul’s adventurous pack of drug-laced cigarettes ends up in the hands of an unpredictable stranger, escalating the stakes in ways no one could imagine.

“That Friend” artfully captures the nuances of friendship, love, and the unforeseen consequences that can arise when spontaneity rules the night. With striking performances and a witty script, this film promises to deliver laughs and heartfelt moments that resonate with anyone who has ever experienced the ups and downs of friendship.
