Description: Struggling inventor Randall Peltzer buys a mysterious creature called a mogwai from a Chinatown shop as a gift for his son, Billy. He is warned of strict rules: avoid light, water, and feeding after midnight. The mogwai, named Gizmo, spawns mischievous offspring after contact with water, transforming into destructive gremlins led by the vicious Stripe. Chaos ensues as the gremlins terrorize the town. Billy and his girlfriend, Kate, manage to eradicate most of the gremlins in a theater explosion, but Stripe survives until exposed to sunlight.
