A Journey of Reconnection in ‘Honeyjoon’
Presenting an intimate chronicle of loss, love, and healing, “Honeyjoon” is set to premiere on October 28, under director Lilian T. Mehrel, known for her soul-stirring narratives.
Produced by Wonder Maria Filmes and Cinema Inutile, the movie explores the realms of grief and acceptance through the lens of a captivating mother-daughter duo, Lela and June, portrayed by the exceptionally talented Amira Casar and Ayden Mayeri, respectively.
The plot takes the audience on an exotic sojourn to the beautiful landscapes of São Miguel, Portugal, where Lela, a Kurdish-Persian woman, and her American daughter June set out on a peculiar trail of self-discovery after facing a major setback in life. In the middle of their despairs and delights, the mother-daughter duo encounters a unique blend of tour guide allure in the form of João, played by Portuguese sensation José Condessa, adding a twist of lightness into their heavyhearted journey.
