Morgan Lily Interview
1. You began your acting and modeling career at a very young age, starting internationally at just four years old. How do you think starting so early has shaped your approach to your career in the entertainment industry?
Starting so young was such a privilege! I was able to grow up around such amazing atmospheres! Doing this while I grew up really allowed me to learn so much about acting.
2. Your role as young Raven Darkhölme/Mystique in “X-Men: First Class” is one of your most notable parts. Could you share any memorable experiences from working on such a high-profile film?
We filmed this in London which is such an incredible city. I met the sweetest people & got to explore such a cool place. Filming was a blast. I needed a full-body life cast for this role which was a very neat experience. The prosthetics took 4+ hours a day!
3. You’ve had a variety of roles in both film and television, including appearances in “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” How do you prepare differently for roles in television compared to film?
The prep is very similar unless there is something specific about the character that requires training, studying, etc.
4. In “2012,” you played Lilly Curtis, a role that required depicting intense scenarios. How do you prepare for roles that involve high levels of emotion and action?
Haha this is where being an actor gets difficult. Of course, we were just on a sound stage with a plain blue screen behind us! Usually feeding off the energy of the other actors is the best way to get into it before “action” is called 😊
5. Having worked as a fashion model in addition to acting, do you find that modeling influences your acting in any way, or vice versa?
For sure! I think a huge part of really accessing a character for me is the outfit, hair, makeup, etc. So as I really grew my knowledge on that stuff through modeling, I could also better use it in my acting.
6. You acted alongside Mark Wahlberg in “Joe Bell” (2020). What was it like working with him and being part of a story with such a powerful message?
An absolute joy. Joe Bell is the story I’m most proud that I was able to help tell. Jadin & Joe Bell will forever be so near & dear to my heart. Helping tell their story was the ultimate privilege. I hope this story can be of comfort/help to so many people ❤️
7. Given your extensive work in commercials, film, and television since a young age, is there a particular type of role or genre you haven’t tackled yet but are eager to try?
Comedy! I’ve dabbled some, but can’t wait to really start a hilarious comedic role.
8. You’ve been part of the entertainment industry for most of your life. How do you balance your professional commitments with your personal life and education?
Luckily there were great teachers on set while working growing up! While you definitely sacrifice some typical aspects of life, I made my best friends on set! That alone is worth it 😊
9. Finally, looking to the future, are there any dream projects or collaborators you’re hoping to work with?
I’ve been writing a lot, and working on some very fun projects! I cannot wait for you to see!
Hey people!!!!!
Good mood and good luck to everyone!!!!!
