About The Servant

This film reinterprets Joseph Losey’s 1963 classic, focusing on the complex dynamics between the aristocratic Tony and his servant, Hugo Barrett. Initially, Barrett appears to be dependable, yet tensions arise when Tony’s girlfriend, Susan, expresses her discomfort with him. The narrative intensifies when Barrett’s sister, Vera, enters the household, leading to complications and secret liaisons. As the story unfolds, the power dynamic shifts dramatically, culminating in an unexpected twist that challenges notions of loyalty and status within the domestic sphere.
