“Dune: Part Two” To Return to Hungary For Filming in July

Production Update

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence-a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential-only those who can conquer their fear will survive. Part two will focus on Paul assembling a massive army of Fremen to combat the ruthless Harkonnen, as he essentially becomes a mythical messiah figure to the inhabitants of Arrakis.

Production for the second part of the film adaptation of Dune is scheduled to begin on July 18th and will be returning to Budapest, Hungary. Much of the principal cast from the prior film will be returning along with a few new additions. Dune: Part Two is expected to be released on October 20, 2023.
