About Danai Gurira
Danai Gurira is a Zimbabwean-American actress and playwright, best known for her starring role as Michonne on the AMC television series The Walking Dead. Born in Grinnell, Iowa to parents of Zimbabwen descent, Gurira later moved to Harare, Zimbabwe with her family.
She returned to the United States to study at Macalester College, earning a BA in psychology and political science. Gurira began her acting career on stage, appearing in numerous Off-Broadway and Broadway productions.
