We must end the racist, immoral, and costly practice that is the death penalty.
The Trump administration executed 13 people in its final days, more than all other presidents in the previous 50 years combined. It’s a travesty.
The encouraging news is that Joe Biden has already stated his personal opposition to the death penalty. But actions speak louder than words. Joe Biden has the power to commute all federal death sentences and abolish the death penalty once and for all.
We are not going to stop until we ban the death penalty altogether. Will you join Alexandria and Representatives Ayanna Pressley and Cori Bush, along with dozens of their colleagues, in calling on President Biden to commute all federal death sentences?
Every signature will be sent to President Biden’s team, so your voice will make a difference.
Shortly after Joe Biden was inagurated, Alexandria joined colleagues in sending a letter to the president urging him to commute the sentences of all those on death row, halt federal executions, and fight to end the death penalty once and for all.
Commuting sentences is a tangible, serious step in the right direction.
Together, we will keep fighting for more policies rooted in equity and humanity.
